**** The Official Note 4 thread ****

Mine seems to be about back to normal - maybe it needed to recalibrate - showing 53h from a full charge now instead of like ~30h.

My battery seems to be telling me lies. It can have 30% but die within some minutes. I've noticed that the battery will suddenly jump from 30% to something like 3 or 4% before going off.

Mine has been doing that for last couple of months. Battery can have 20% 1 minute, then dies completely in an instant. Cant even turn it back on without plugging it in at that point.

Same here. I was also getting intermittent random reboots (even with a mostly full battery). New battery fixed it.

Mine was doing that a few months ago, I have a spare battery I swap around when the phone dies on me. Hasn't restarted since I last swapped battery but I'd forgotten about it until I read this.

I wonder if the Note 4 is harder on its battery for some reason, though I did use the quick charge occasionally and it's spent quite a few hours as a satnav in the sun.

I hope the Note 6 has a removable battery. I hate the idea of not having this feature.

I've been having this exact same issue for the last month, battery goes from 30-50% to nothing and dies, i'll get round to replacing the battery soon.
I just put it down to poor charging habits?

The SoC on this phone gets quite warm - pretty sure people disabling the built in thermal limits is behind some of the screen degradation issues some users have experienced. Its possible even under normal circumstances the extra heat right on the battery is causing problems - Li-ion likes very stable conditions when it is charging.

I hate the idea of non-removable batteries - won't buy a phone without the ability to change it while I have a choice in the matter - its not completely uncommon to have to change the battery due to a fault and/or a fair number of people like to swap between 2-3 batteries in regular usage.

I've had an issue with my Note 4 where the phone can suddenly freeze and lock up, it then switches itself off and reboots.

Has anyone else experienced something similar, if so did you find the root cause ?

My phone is a SIM free UK phone, i've recently cleared the cache from the boot menu and also a hard reset via the home button, power button and volume up button. The only app i have on at the moment is kaspersky Internet security 2016 and Aquamail, the phone is otherwise clear.

If the problem persists you might want to try a factory reset

As I mentioned earlier in this thread, mine was rebooting itself at random times but I don't remember it locking up first - I think it was an instant black screen and reboot, caused by a faulty battery. Still, might be worth trying a different battery in yours.
