**** The Official Note 4 thread ****

'Index service' is doing my head in. It's eating my battery and even though I force stop it I pick the phone up and it's cooking and eaten most of the battery in a couple of hours.

Would still appreciate if any of you Note 4 peeps could do this for me....

Could anyone else Also tell me what there idle cpu temp is when on the phone desktop and what it goes up to in games.
This is CPU temp not battery temp..
You can use CpuTemp with the on screen display to check.

If im correct it should be around 35 degres when idle and around 56 or so in a decent game with the default DVFS enabled.

thanks.
36 normal and 46 during real racing 3. It goes up higher when using the torch oddly to 54 degrees.

Ugh, second handset, still getting abysmal battery life.

So far today it's 11 hours 39 off charge, 1 hour 8 minutes screen on time, with 37% battery left!

Battery usage is:

Android System - 29%
Android OS - 16%
Screen - 11%
Google Services - 9%
Exchange Services - 6%

Exactly the same as the first one. I guess poor signal and university wi-fi really do massacre the battery! :(

Definitely something not right there. On my s5 prime (same screen res, cpu, ram etc) i have similar usage to you today, 12.5 hours on battery, With an hours screen on time with wifi on all day and im on 84%! Thats with a Smaller 2800mah battery.

Can you let me know what temp is goes up to.
Since you will have DVFS enabled I would imagine it wont go much higher than 55-60. and What fps you get from the benchmark too.

installing now also talking to friends on skype so will get it done at the latest tomorrow afternoon :-)

What is this DVFS thing you chaps are on about? I assume it's some kind of throttling feature? Would disabling it affect your warranty in any way?

Edit: Just checked my GiffGaff status, its been shipped and is expected for tomorrow (11th) - that is seriously fast!

I can see Samsung releasing lollipop for their flagship devices in December seeing as there's videos floating about of lollipop running on the S5.

Eurgh can't decide between this and the Z3.

I currently have a Z2, but have the upgrade itch. I know I should get the Z3, as it's awesome battery life etc but part of me wants to play with a pen!

Z3 is old tech. Full HD and snapdragon 801? Pfft. Those specs are so early 2014

It's HERE! *vibrates excitedly*

Time to cancel the sim on that S3 methinks.

I was thinking the same thing but went with the Note in the end. The long battery life in the Z3 is a real world advantage. I think the tech in the Note 4 edges it though...
