**** The Official Note 4 thread ****

Why do we need 4k in a phone? the Note 4 already looks extremely sharp and its only going to hurt performance. Id rather they stick with QHD and improve performance.

Never mind, UC can kiss my chuddies. Just started using CM browser, considerably faster and a doddle to use. Still, it's a shame when an app that was once glorious becomes a turd.

Anyone use UC Browser? It's being terrible recently and I don't know if it's the phone/LP or the app. Tabs frequently become unresponsive, or interactive elements on a page. Or the app itself just freezes and crashes. I experience these issues several times a day, shame because I really like UC.

Just gave it a whirl on my note 4 and it's awful - suffered all the issues you list. Tried it on my galaxy tab s and had the same problems. I think they broke it

How do u fix that issue?

The google play services issue was fixed in an update that shipped about 2 or so weeks ago. I would have thought almost all android devices would have auto updated to it by now so it shouldn't be an issue anymore.

As for lots of other wakelocks, depends what causes them. I see the Note 4 wakes up all the time due to sensorhub wake locks. I assume it's because of the shealth pedometer, but it still happens even if you don't use shealth and even if you disable it totally. Basically, pretty much every time your phone moves the sensor hub wakes it up, so if it's in your pocket it will wake up all day.

I work in retail so I end up walking around a lot at work and I can really see the difference.

phone in pocket = 65% deep sleep

phone in draw = 97% deep sleep

Poor design. I'm thinking of trying a kernel with the ability to hold that wakelock removed so it can't do it. That appears to be the only way to stop it as the kernel itself decides to wake the phone, no application is asking for it.

Had my Note 4 a couple of days now. Really enjoying it so far. The screen size and quality is fantastic. Im also really impressed with the camera.

Just need to grab a decent case.

910F Lollipop update downloads (980MB ish), starts the installation then requires reboot. On reboot I get a little logo with 'Error' then it boots back into 4.4.4. I've tried downloading the update a few times now and get the same error each time.

It's an SM-N910F from smartphonecompany (same people as mobilephonesdirect) which came with stock Samsung 4.4.4.

Any ideas?

OTA update; the phone isn't rooted. First time it got to about 30% into the installation after a reboot. After that, each attempt since downloads, reboots then gives that logo with 'error'.

-edit- just called Samdung and they'll be snooping through my phone remotely this afternoon remotely to see what's up.

:D

Mine bought from there and updated alright.

Good stuff! Not sure what's going on with my phone. I tried a factory reset and a cache wipe but it still won't update. Hopefully they'll be able to sort it over the phone later on. I'll post back once i'm finished with Samdung.

Got my Ota lollipop update, was a sim free o2 phone I bought grade a and put a giffgaff sim in, not noticing any difference apart from notifications, otherwise somebody could have changed it and I wouldn't even have noticed.Any real day to day differences?
