It's worth the wait to get a non buggy ota that also properly accommodates the s pen surely, it's not as if kk is rubbish.

I accidentally went back to LP after downgrading - got fed up of the upgrade icon appearing in the corner all the time.

I'm still impressed at how much smoother LP feels, I'm not getting any lag and it just works. Battery life again seems to be improved but I'm not using it much during the day - I've not had any errors or force close prompts at all and the phone just runs buttery smooth.

Think I'll stick with LP. One thing which I did do after upgrading again was to wipe the phone and cache and start from fresh.

I've got a N3 but since flashing to the Polish 5.0, my bluetooth LG headset takes forever to connect when the screen is off. Has to go into automatic 'ready to pair' mode before it picks up my phone. Never had that problem on KK. Wonder why.

Does anyone find web browsing to drain the battery quite drastically or is it just me?

I use a SNS website (no app unfortunately) and I can only get about 2 hours SoT before reaching 20% battery (that's from 100%).

Tried Chrome and stock browser, no difference!

Yes the Z3 has exceptional battery life and great sound quality on earphones/headphones and can play hi res sound files, just wondering how the note 4 compares in these two areas, love the note 4's large 2k screen with s-pen.

Narrowed it down to these two devices, not sure which one to get, anybody own both of these?

I've had both, both are great devices, I think it comes down to personal preference.

The only thing that bugged me about the Z3 was it took forever to charge whereas the Note 4 can be fully charged from 0-100% in under 90 minutes!

Depends what the website is doing. That isn't normal so it must be up to something to keep the CPU's at high load.

An hour of stock browser for me is anywhere from 8-20% battery depending on how bright the screen needs to be. Outside in the day is definitely closer to 20%/hour, but indoor in lower light the battery life can be impressive.

S Planner was really bugging me - it refuses to turn off notifications despite me telling it not to for calendar events. I stupidly thought I could just uninstall with Titanium but I now get messages saying aspects of Google calendar aren't working/have crashed. Can I reinstall the S Planner apk? I can't find a version for Lollipop, and what I presume to be the KK version will not install.

Just had a new screen fitted under warranty due to the oleophobic coating coming off. phone just over 1 month old.

I wouldn't have done that to my phone because the coating wore off, more risk of getting a bad screen or some damage to the phone. Screen replacement should be a last resort they are never perfect when replaced. Remember these coating all wear off in time and if you use cleaners on your phone or any screen that comes with a coating it will wear it quicker.

Don't use alcohol based, home based (even if they say they are ok on computers) cleaners on your phone or any screen that has a coating on it or it will strip the coating off, but like anything it will come off in time and you can reapply it with kits they sell. Most people don't even notice it has come off and does not really affect viewing if you wipe your screen. All you need is water or breath a bit on the screen and wipe with a lint free cloth.

I see the new type screen protectors that are sold now come with a alcohol based wipe to clean the phone before applying the protector and that basically strips the oleophobic coating and removes any oil so the screen protector can attach correctly.

Kit to reapply the coating can be found with a simple Google search and link below shows how easy it is to apply.

Read that too.

This is very good advice for all and is easily overlooked by a vast amount of users that apply those tempered glass protectors. The only way I could explain this to my other half was to drop a small dollop of water onto her tablet screen and my note 4 just to see the effects. Her tablet has a protector sadly because apparently these are mandatory.

It was a very obvious strip missing that felt different and dragged under my finger when using the phone. Only ever used a microfibre cloth to clean, no chemicals.

Phone appears to be perfect afterwards and screen was swapped within an hour of popping in the shop.

Well the good news is that they've put out LP for the S5 today so it should be next week for us.

Unfortunately I don't think that's much of a sign of anything as the S5 (SM-G900F) has actually had 3 BTU Lollipop updates so far, starting from a few months ago.

I hope Samsung release the BTU update for the Note 4 soon though, I still find it crazy that for the past couple of years (at least) it seems as if their flagship phones are getting updates on the network branded versions long before the BTU one.
