**** The Official Note 4 thread ****

Well the good news is that they've put out LP for the S5 today so it should be next week for us.

Unfortunately I don't think that's much of a sign of anything as the S5 (SM-G900F) has actually had 3 BTU Lollipop updates so far, starting from a few months ago.

I hope Samsung release the BTU update for the Note 4 soon though, I still find it crazy that for the past couple of years (at least) it seems as if their flagship phones are getting updates on the network branded versions long before the BTU one.

What's all the hype with lp? Got my update a few days ago and not much has changed, maybe I'm missing something. The change to browsers is annoying, no more tabs, you now have to press the recent apps key to see tabs.

believe that can be changed / reverted to the old style in the settings somewhere

Mate at work has just picked one of these up hes loving it so far but hes got an issue that i dont quite know how to fix as im not sure on whats causing it.

The time in the clock widget is correct but the time in the notification bar is 6hours infront if i untick use network time and set it myself then the notification bar time is correct but the widget time is out by 6hours, i might be missing an obvious fix, any ideas?

Might seem a bit obvious, but have you checked whether the widget has some sort of setting for timezone offset? i.e if it's not a built-in clock widget it could potentially have it's own settings.

^^^ cheers for the reponse but i found the issue it was a simple fix after all, I had to manually set the timezone as having the network timezone ticket seemed to be selecting a different timezone which was 6 hours ahead

Managed to installed oculus gear on my note 4, but is there anyway to use the app without the official gear vr?

I've got a cheap cardboard viewer on the way and really wanted to use oculus cinema, but when I launch the app it keeps asking me to connect it to the gear vr.

Any known work arounds?

Doesnt the VR gear not have some sort of lens in front of the screen built on, I dont know about anyone else, but trying to hold a note4 in front of my eyes at nose length, I cant focus at all and I have pretty good sight.

As an aside, has anyone else got the Spigen neo hybrid case? I am having bother getting the HRM to work with it fitted, it seems to have too deep a recess to the monitor to accurately work. After cycling last night apparently my HR was 45 beats per min lol.

Yeah, the one I've ordered is like Google cardboard, but for bigger phones, so it's got the lens and NFC.

Just hoping there's a work around as I was really impressed with the cinema app from what I've seen.

Where is the cheapest place to pick up an unlocked Note 4?

I previously had the Note 3 which I loved but which I also lost at the beginning of the year... Currently using a Samsung Galaxy Grand Prime which has absolutely terrible performance.

The original plan was to wait for the Note 5 but I cannot take the poor performance of the Grand Prime any longer, so I am considering getting the Note 4 now and sell for the 5 when it is released.

Giffgaff sell it unlocked for a decent price :)

Their customer service/repair is terrible, I bought my note 4 from Giffgaff in January and started to a develop a fault in March, constantly restarting or stuck in a boot loop. I sent it back to Giffgaff to be fix but they broke it instead. When I got my phone back, it won't charge or load, it only get to the samsung loading screen and shut off. When the finally battery run out, the phone won't charge. They said it was my fault cause and I was using a rework software or unofficial firmware and was beyond economical repair. They refused to give me a refund or replacement cause I voided the warranty by using a unofficial firmware but I only flashed my note 4 with lollipop.

I e-mailed the CEO of Giffgaff and wrote a very long complaint. They finally replaced me with a refurbished note 4 and I managed to get the broken note 4 fixed for £60 :) Gave the other note 4 to my wife.
