**** The Official Note 4 thread ****

Just ordered this on contract for £27.50 a month with O2 for unlimited mins and texts and 1GB 4G data (more than enough for me, I rarely go above 500mb with wifi so abundant). Seemed like a good deal since it works out cheaper than my current sim only deal (£7.5p/m vs £10.20p/m) when you take the cost of the phone into consideration.

Is the current consensus to keep it on KitKat until 5.1.1/Marshmallow is available?

Also, is it possible to get wireless charging via a new back?

You can buy a new back that officially supports wireless charging. I have the official Samsung one that adds a bit of thickness to it but I think makes it look better because the camera lens is now flush.

Or, you can buy an unofficial mod that attaches to the stock back and also gets you wireless charging.

Not everyone seems to have battery problems on 5.0.1/2 but I think it's safe to say you will get a stronger battery life on KK. I recently jumped back to KK and was experiencing 6/7 hours screen on time in the first couple of days, last couple of days has been different with less SOT but I am going to bed with 30-40% battery left so could stretch use to 2 days (assume my usage/areas travelled has differed) of less intensive use.

If you're on KK, I would stay and wait for 5.1.1, no idea when that will be though.

Rilot - how's wireless charging on the Note 4? Tempted to get a pad for my work desk.

My girlfriend and I both have these phones - both on 5.0.1. Stayed up late last night and we'd run the phones down during the Bournemouth Air Festival so we charged the phones up to 100% before we went to bed about 1am. Both phones were not used at all for the next 11 odd hours. We wake up and her phone is dead and mine is on 14%. I've seen a few people talk about battery issues but this is a joke, it means we need to make sure we leave it charged overnight and only unplug when we want to use it. Below is a picture of my battery usage:

Shocking how they can get it so won't, my note 2 was better. In fact I still use it at work now but with no sim card. With only wifi turned on it can last a week with irregular usage, but with no usage it lasts an entire month!

Clicking on the graph will show its been awake all night. Sometimes a reboot before charging helps.

It happens on my wife's Note 3 on Kitkat now and then.

Cheers, I'll have a look at the graph next time. This is a frequent occurrence though, I hope they fix it as it's really annoying waking up to a dead phone.

You've missed the whole point. Battery shouldn't be draining like that when the screen is off...period.

That is a problem yes, but my post wasn't related to it. I was just replying to his comment about waking up to a dead phone... implying he doesn't or can't change overnight for some reason - which I'm sure is what most people do. I was wondering why.

Why can't you charge them whilst you sleep? Surely that would be more convenient? Unless I've missed something.

I used to get nearly two days battery out of my phone. For example I'd charge Sunday night and it would last till early Tuesday evening at around 8PM. I'd charge it up at 8PM and then use it before going to sleep. Depending on when it died would dictate when I'd charge it, it didn't always run flat just before bed.

But don't count on getting it any time soon...

how big and what type of sd card can i put in my note 4?

going away and want to load up on some tv/films to watch.

also how should i transfer and play mkv files?

Samsung Memory 32GB Evo MicroSDHC UHS-I Grade 1 Class 10 Memory Card with SD Adapter are currently £10 each.

will 2 of these do for a note 4 and note 3?
