**** The Official Note 4 thread ****

Just ordered a Sandisk 128GB micro sd for mine, they can be had for £35 now which isn't too bad, check hukd if you want one.

When my phome gets to 9/8% battery and I try to do something it'll just turn off. What is with this?!

This is something quite a few people have been reporting. Sudden drops when the battery is below 15%. I've had it go from 15% to 2% in a second, and then turn off a few seconds later.

Seems there's an issue with the battery calibration, where it's reporting the remaining capacity incorrectly.

I found that a few full charge - discharge cycles seemed to fix the calibration and it stopped happening.

What's the crack with the iPlayer app not working, are we just waiting for an update our is it worked in general?

Well my three year old Note 2 stopped charging yesterday, which with a cracked screen forced my hand into a replacement.

Looking around at current / forthcoming options, I've decided to go for a sim free Note 4.

It still seems to hold its own and when my main usage is web browsing and viewing media, I think this phone still makes sense, especially since it can be had for £200 cheaper than the Note 5.

Can't wait to have a play with my new phone!

Received these two buggers today so I could try my hand at wireless charging. Was up and running in less than a minute but am concerned about the obvious heat now. Wasn't expecting the phone to get THAT hot but its currently sitting at 49c, with the battery hitting about 37.5c according to CPU-Z.

The wireless receiver adds no bulge to the stock Note4 back cover and works through a thick Spigen Slim Armour case too.

fed up of my note 4 crashing all the time and generally feeling like a mid range phone from 3 years ago. Any decent custom roms that are highly stable and recommended or should I just cut my loses.

Which Note 4 Do you have?

The Note 4C with 5.1.1 is a dream phone. Sell your Note 4F & Get the C, You'll love it

Yeah mine is so fast and never crashes. 910F.
I would recommend Echoe Rom or at least the Echoe 5.1.1 multivarient Kernel.
I use that Kernal with the Stock 5.1.1 rom and my phone is a dream to use.

No problems at all with 910F on stock Samsung 5.1.1 and never had any problems on 5.0 or 4.4. No crashes or strange other problems people mention. Never been rooted here. So either faulty phones or user error or installing software with compatibility issues or nasty ware.

although I no longer I have my Note 4 all the problems I had were gone when I formatted or deleted the cache files in recovery anyone suffering poor battery or performance I suggest trying that. Kitkat2015's comment is just stupid

Its a n910f

its also on v5.0.1 so not sure if latest

Is your phone a carrier phone or a Samsung unlocked version ? Also 5.1.1 Android will be available soon for BTU and all UK Carriers. Have you done a manual check if the phone is on the latest version of Android and forced a check to try update it ? If not try that but I also recommend if you are having so many problems with it to reset it back to factory and then also try update and disable any apps you don't use that run in the background and take up resources for no good reason.

Totally agree with Bradmax57. :)

kitkat2015 you clearly don't know enough about these phones to make such a comment. Also a totally pointless downgrade to go to a C version, the F version is the most supported version for Firmware and Roms if you ever decide to root. The C version has hardly any support in that area.

I also don't recommend rooting the phone unless you want to play with other Roms, otherwise don't bother and tripping Knox which will in some cases invalidate your warranty or in the future when you will sell it you will get a lot less for it.

I see no good reason to root it, 1st phone ever I have not had to do that to, because the stock software is great and does everything you need and touchwiz is a lot better now. 5.1.1 has also made it more snappy again (not like it was slow before). Only good reason I can think off to root this phone is to remove any software that is not removable but again disabling it works just as well, but if you need to recover the space then yes maybe root it and delete some of the stock apps that are of no use.

Thanks

Not sure why you would say that. XDA has lots of roms for 910C & usually it get the updates first & it has the Wolfson DAC for better audio.
