**** The Official Note 4 thread ****

My original battery seems to be behaving completely normally :)

Any bugs with that ROM Columbo? Look forward to TW 7.1 ROMs, though that will be a while.

Nothing major so far, the auto rotate response seem a little slow but does work and the battery seems to drain a little quicker with the screen on however I wouldn't quote my on that as I've not had flashed for even a day yet.

So far it will be fine as my daily for now unless something major rears it's head.

The plot thickens. I tried signing into my Dropbox on Chrome and the phone went dead, strangely I think this is what I did when it started being weird with the previous battery. The battery was at 11% and completely dead when I plugged it in and like before, it's charging way too quickly again. This current battery is my original from the previous broken Note 4 but it seemed absolutely fine until it went dead.

EDIT - 71% to 75% whilst I typed the above, without fast charging :(.

I had this problem and changing the battery solved it for me. Yeah so annoying when it 60% and you think you got plenty of battery and it suddenly dies!

I flashed it for an hour and had to revert to old ROM as the stock camera app did not switch off my camera's OIS properly, leaving it on and heating it up, deal breaker for me...

I used a CM 13 ROM before and had the same problem, got away with this as I used a third party camera app, but eventually switched to another TW ROM as another video calling app produced the same problem.

Yep I've had to flash back to a TW Rom because of 2 things.

- The Auto rotate bug was really annoying, even opening some apps that were not landscape compatible in landscape mode
- The screen colour profile would not set properly so whenever I woke the phone the whites were magnolia, as a photographer one thing I can't live with is the white balance being off! :D

Which TW rom have you flashed? I've only just started flashing as my phone was out of warranty so thought I'd play, I've gone for the latest RamRom.

I've been in touch with Anker who've confirmed that the Note 4 battery is now discontinued and will no longer be stocked in the UK.

Just wanted a rant.
Can't believe i am at my 3rd Note 4 battery and had the phone since it appeared.
Anyway, sorry if it has been discussed but any more official news if we will get an official android 7 update/release? On EE. Thanks.

I think the Nougat release for the Note 4 is still at the rumour stage, SamMobile isn't confirming it yet anyway.

I would be surprised if they did, the phone is two years old now. Even if they did it probably wouldn't be out until the second half of next year. XDA however .....

So would I but they recently surprised me with an upgrade to Marshmallow on the Tab S 8.4 & 10.5 so you never know. Plus if they don't upgrade they're saying we don't support flagship phones after 2 years.

My Note4 that I bought on launch and gave to my father about 7-8 months ago is now playing up also.

It randomly shuts off with about 70-80% charge. Only way to wake it up is to repeatedly remove and insert the battery. When it does finally boot, the date is completely out of whack and that has to be re-set. Aside from this the phone works totally fine.

I've been looking at batteries on Amazon, but the reviews are rather poor at best, even ones from Anker (now discontinued). Powerbear seem to have the best battery cell life and reviews, but the battery is £50. I'll probably have to cough up.

Glad I got mine massively discounted through work - seems a lot of stories of them suffering problems after awhile - mine has now started to periodically restart itself (looks like sometimes its freezing and some kind of "watchdog" rebooting it). Hopefully makes it to around the middle of 2017 and I'll look at replacing it anyhow or end up fully back on my Note 1 that has suddenly decided its going to behave itself again battery life wise :S

I got a decent Anker one for my previous Note 4, let me find the exact one.
