****The Official Note III Thread****

I have left the 3 brand firmware does it make a difference
Is it sim unlocked? Might want to check that first.

But you should be on this one (9005 yeah?), just check it. Keep a copy in case it has to go back

I was also thinking the same but it's not too bad after a few days of use it feels great. Fits comfortably in my Jean pockets as well half the time I don't feel like it's even there.

I would say go for it. You should always try something new if you don't like it I'm sure you can return it.

Thanks and yes it is the 9005.

The phone is working fine will anything be different on the stock ROM also I can change to it any time like any other phone?

The region issue won't affect this if I'm right?

Different? not really. No branding, couple apps +/- maybe, don't have one so can't say. Change as you like. Region is Europe, so any of those should be fine, but stick to BTU for local apn etc. Just see if it's sim networked locked first.

How did you get the LTE option please!!
I'm wiith 3 and I don't have that setting in 'Other Networks'
Could you post a link to the solution?
Not sure if this will help, but try this app/apk. Should give you access to the hidden baseband settings (worked on my 4.3 GE i9505 rom)

So what's everyone doing with their Note 3? So far I've been browsing, listening to music, watching videos and playing the odd game - pretty much exactly the same as what I did on my Note 2 except doing it slightly faster and on a better screen :p

Can anyone inspire me to discover some useful features I haven't noticed? Right now I feel I may as well stuck with the Note 2, although I suspected this might happen 2 weeks ago.

I've ordered one. My dads old S2 was stolen last week, he's taken my brothers S3 off him and my brother is taking my HTC One off me.

Was weighing up whether to go for PAYG or contract but I've gone for the dialaphone deal:

Note 3 - £0.00 (£100 Quidco cashback)
Orange £36 per month (18 months)
600 Mins
Unlimited Texts
1GB Internet

Total Cost: £548

I will transfer my mums O2 PAYG number to the Orange SIM and give it to her meaning she no longer needs to top up, not that she did much anyway (approx £5 a month). She only really uses the minutes so the lack of internet wasn't really an issue, I already have unlimited data on my T-Mobile tariff.

Stock sim free UK device and it was an Over The Air update.

Kernel version is 12th October!

Wow...

That's almost impressive, I just checked tonight and had 2 updates in a row, now on the Oct 12th one..

That's either great support, or shockingly poor quality control depending on how you look at it!
