****The Official Note III Thread****

There are a couple of sellers on Amazon down to about £440, ratings are fine and claim they're sealed uk versions. Too good to be true?

I always buy Amazon direct/fulfilled as they give no hassle exchange/refunds within a year if the phone goes faulty. Their CS is superb.

Samsung devices have never had great signal, which XDA often blame on the radio software. If you're in a decent area for signal they're perfectly fine (hence a lot of "it's the best ever" comments on here), but they have always seemed to fall over in specific situations where competitors can keep a solid connection.

Are you speaking generally or have you got specific evidence for the Note 3?

The S3 i9305 and Note 2 N7105 (both have the same radio) had fairly average reception yes, but the S4 Mini had better signal than the Note 2 on the same network and location. (sister's house, where t-mobile reception is weak).

So it depends on the specific handset and it's radio hardware+ SW.

Can you downgrade the firmware on the Note3? I'd like to see if an earlier version gives better signal.

If don't want to factory reset then it's usually a recipe for disaster, incompatible apps etc. If you're happy to factory reset then you should be able to flash any firmware (old or new) using Odin.

*disclaimer, I'm basing these comments from experience with my Note1
