*****The OFFICIAL OCUK 2014/2015 Fantasy Football League*****

I'm pretty sure bonus points are calculated by an algorithm which is pretty biased against keepers. Don't think MotM is taken into account.

DDG would probably have got bonus points if he'd made 8 saves in a 0-0 draw, but as soon as other players get on the score sheet then the algorithm favours them. If he'd have kept a clean sheet, made x saves and saved a penalty (eg Tom Heaton), then he might have got bonus points.

Just don't expect many bonus points for your keeper or defenders, unless it's a 0-0 draw (or they score / assist / save a penalty).

Love to know why that 'algorithm' decided to not give any bonus points to a defender who scored a late goal to earn a 1-1 draw, and yet the player who assisted him and the other 2 players involved in the first goal did get bonuses.

Agreed, the BPS algorithm is pants. Seems really bizarre that a defender scoring a goal in a 1-1 draw wouldn't get any....did he get booked + play awfully throughout the rest of the game?

In other news, a Baines hattrick tonight would be absolutely wonderful (forever an optimist :D)

As a defender in a 1-1 draw, you get penalised for the team conceding (assuming you were on pitch at time). Attacking players are not penalised in the same way or at least not nearly as much.

So defender +goal -conceding, ranks lower than midfielder/attacker + assist.

Not claiming to know the details, but it seems clear to me it's highly biased against defenders. For defenders/keepers to get bonus points they almost always need to keep a clean sheet and then assist/score for any of the goals scored by their team. A 0-0 is the easiest way for them to get bonus.

Without doubt it's not balanced, but that's the way it appears to be designed.

Guys, who do you think is the best shout for captain this week? I've got RvP, Kane and Austin up front, with Downing, Hazard, Sanchez and Eriksen in midfield. Based on form Sanchez seems the safe bet, but I like Austin or Kane because they are both at home against relatively poor opposition.

RVP

He seems to be on form lately. Eriksen VC on my team as well, he's pretty much involved in every spurs goal lately.

Dropped Clyne and Lukaku for Clichy and RVP.. fingers crossed
