But a midfielder only gets a single point for a clean sheet compared to FIVE points for a goal and THREE points for an assist? Even if he gets a clean sheet and gets the maximum bonus points that's still only four points? That's why you're crazy to be picking DM's in fantasy football.

MissChief is bang on. You aim for clean sheet bonuses with a decent keeper and a few decent defenders. Mids you aim to score goals and assists.

Picked a team weeks ago and only made one change yesterday, going to see the lay of the land and try and wait till the transfer window closes before using the wildcard.

Though if it's like recent years I'll pop it on Monday.

Thought process:
DDG - best keeper and with Mr Defence manager, I'm hoping many clean sheets.
STONES - bit of a gamble, hopefully a good one.
PARADES - hope he's a starter! Rotates with Fletcher/Friend OK.
TOWNSEND - expecting a good show at Palace with his good form.
OSCAR - I dropped Haz for Oscar. Big gamble as he possibly won't start. He had 3 pre season goals though and an assist. Having him over Haz also freed up cash for any big change in any position next week (which will be inevitable).
IBRA - could destroy the next few teams. If he doesn't, then Aguero should!!
GRAY - again, pre season goodness made him an obvious 3rd striker for me.

My midfield is a bit weak, but at least I have room to change that if needs be.
