The poor did indeed kick back. But they kicked back at the wrong target.

The tragedy of all this is that what will now follow will impact far harder on the poor than anyone else. If there is recession then further austerity will hit the poor hardest. If there is a boom, it will be at the expense of the poor because there will be less workers rights and protection outside of the EU.

We have our own workers rights. Most (aka cast majority) exceed the legally obligated minimum of the EU.

Remember, we haven't left the EU yet.

What? All leave voters get benefits? Can you expand or are you just another toff with his nose in the air.

Spit it out man.

I'm the anti-toff :D

What I am saying is, in the video they were lamenting the cutbacks due to austerity, its about to get much much worse for the poor sadly.

A lot of the leaves seem to have the mentality of "it couldn't get any worse", well they are wrong and are about to experience it. I truly wouldn't wish it on anyone and consider myself privileged to be able bodied if not particularly educated.

Just picked the Mrs up from the station. She was in quite a state.
All day she's been the butt of jokes at her work with people asking "So, when are you leaving?" and "Are you still here?".

Disgusting.

She should be complaining to someone about that. What sort of job does she have? Anywhere respectable won't tolerate such behaviour.

Wow, that is awful, I hope she is OK.

I must admit that I felt embarrassed in work today. I have quite a few colleagues from Spain, France and Germany and they are a bit gobsmacked with uncertainty over their long term outlook.

Agreed.

We know their jobs will be fine. We can set agreements in place relatively easily for workers. The rest of the world does.

I'm just a little taken aback by some of the media in Europe regarding the exit. Like their countries don't have enough problems.

I hope she's is ok and I hope I'm not taking this the wrong way. But from this post and your earlier posts in this thread, your Mrs sounds like someone who freaks out easy.... Saying she feels like packing up and leaving on the basis of a result and now not knowing how to handle what seems like is a bit of a humourous jibe from people in the office or wherever she works.

I could have it all wrong, and if I do then I apologise. But it reads that she's a bit of s drama queen at times.

Does whoever put the middle finger on the passport realise what passports are for? If that's how they feel towards other countries then they probably have no use the the passport.

The average Leave voter I'm afraid :(

All the true colours of people coming out in this thread and proving what I said was right it was a class war above everything else.

Look down your nose at people then ? based upon a tv interview where the person was probably very nervous and couldn't express themselves confidently in front of cameras.

Just coming across as middle class lefties looking down their noses at not so fortunate people and that's the reason you lost.

Seems like people have gotten caught up far too much in the wrong areas and ignored what really matters.

"The younger generation has lost the right to live and work in 27 other countries. We will never know the full extent of the lost opportunities, friendships, marriages and experiences we will be denied. Freedom of movement was taken away by our parents, uncles and grandparents in a parting blow to a generation that was already drowning in the debts of our predecessors."

Yep. And suddenly we're doomed without the EU.

At worst we'll be another Norway or Switzerland. Those places aren't too bad.

No no. Norway has a lot more to offer than us for a start.

We will be lucky to be as well off as Norway and yet they are not even among the top 10 largest economies. Remember we were fifth before we left the EU, the only other countries on that list with a population similar to ours are guess what? In the EU.

The rest that aren't are huge with populations that dwarf ours and we will never do as well as they do for obvious reasons.

That is disgusting! Can she not file a formal complaint?

I've told her to go to HR and complain about racial abuse.
I'm just gobsmacked that an extremely highly qualified professional person can be abused like that in the UK.

Make me embarrassed to be British.

No matter what way your politics lean, there's absolutely no need for that. I'm really worried that this is just the start of anti-Johnny-Foreigner sentiment.

I'm gutted that little Nigel's gap year has been ruined.
