***The Official OcUK Lego Thread***

The VIP doesn't get you much other than points and early access, so just wait until there is something you actually want to buy and then sign up then? You get the points for that purchase.

That's fair enough, but that wasn't the question....I just like to know when do I sign up in the purchase process? I was at the page about to put in my card details and I don't see an option to even opt-in?

Do you have a Lego ID? I was slightly confused when I signed up to be a VIP online as well, I don't recall ever checking a box for it, I just got an email after I placed the order which allowed me to complete the registration.

When shopping online at shop.LEGO.com, click ‘sign up’ in the VIP Box. You will then be asked to create a LEGO ID. This is your free username which will help you earn and redeem VIP Points online. Once you have your LEGO ID, you can accept the VIP Program terms and conditions and once your order is placed, your membership is complete.

The above is from the website, it doesn't mention opting in at any point there. Maybe they used to have to check a box at the checkout and they haven't updated the instructions?

Another option is to do it over the phone, that way you don't need to spend any money to become a VIP, not sure how excessive the call cost will be but it's likely to be less than the £8 you're currently spending.

Every day I walk past the Lego shop in Glasgow, and everyday I get just that bit closer to walking in and buying a Simpsons house set.

I really want one, but £180 just keeps me holding back :(

My Current Amazon 'Wish List' that I've set up for my Birthday/Christmas, so people can see what I want, and not just buy me a pair of socks and a Voucher, is Just full of Lego!!!

I've been told I'm difficult to buy for on my Birthday/Christmas (as they are the same day!!)... Not anymore!! Just get me LEGO!!!

I must have jinxed myself, Yodel still hasn't delivered my Mini, it's been out for delivery since 9am this morning. :(

[edit]

Nevermind, it's here!

Wow, that's a terrible conversion. The current exchange rate makes $200 about £120, and the Cargo Train which is $200 in the US is £140 here. £160 is taking the pee.
