The Official OCZ EB PC4000 2GB OC Thread

ok, thats what i needed to know..

i'll set memtest off tomorrow morning when i goto work and see what its done when i come home :)

thanks for the help mate!

thought id post in here instead of making a new thread.

i think i might have got 1T to work ok by doing the following.

instead of running the CPU at 250x10 and the memory at 400mhz i am now running the CPU at 280x9 and the memory at 333mhz. the memory frequency is now only 229.9mhz amd not 250mhz. the rest of the memory settings are 3-3-2-5-1T

is this the right way to go, by lowing the CPU multipler and memory mhz value or not ?

You could try to tighten up those timings, if you are keeping the ram.Somewhere along the lines of 2.5-3-2-6 or 2.5-3-2-5 should be possible with the memory at 230HTT

I had mine at 240HTT with 2.5-3-2-5 1T. I have now running 1:1 267HTT/ 3-3-2-5 1T

if i use 2.5-3-2-5,6,7 the PC will not boot not matter what voltage i use, if i use 2-3-2-5,6,7 i can get the PC to boot with a ddr voltage of 2.9 but get errors as soon as i use the stress test in prime95

Just a quick question if anyone could answer. I have an FX-53, do you think I will struggle with overclocking the memory with this chip? I know some of the older ClawHammer cores weren't that great with overclocking 2gb of memory. On the other hand though I also know that the FX had a better memory controller than the 64 chips.

I want to upgrade without changeing my cpu, will be changeing from my current Msi neo 2 plat when I see what Nvidia offer gpu wise but also want a decent o/c on some 2gb sticks. Otherwise I might as well just wait for ddr2 support when the next socket comes out.

Any help would be appreciated thanks.

I increased my multiplier to X13 but it isnt stable with prime95, games play ok but on the odd occasion i.e once in say 5 hours play - my pc will reboot while playing so much for having the luxury of unlocked multi  I've also tried increasing the cpu voltage from 1.5v etc but all I get is the hassle of having to reset the cmos - sucks. I dont have any problems running at 2.4 ghz anyway so I think I'll just wait untill AM2 comes along & do a overhaul later in the year.

Thanks, not the answer I was looking for :/

Time to budget for another £400 on the pc upgrade then, for a new cpu.

So which is better then?

The OCZ5002048EBPE-K (EB Series) for sale on OCUK, or the newly released XTC EL series (OCZP5002GXTC-K)?

Strangely enough, the new stuff has slightly slower timings (3-3-3-8 vs 3-3-2-8)
