**** The Official OnePlus 3 Thread ****

It's just as good. I've only really had to use the wall one at the weekends, the half hour or so in the car with it on the Dashcharger on the way to/from work each day has been keeping it full.

I'd love to give it a go. I've bought several car chargers over the past few years and found them all to be crap. They just maintained battery when using sat nav etc. I invested in a better quality one a few months ago. It does charge, But only a few % in a 25min commute.

Would this really make a huge difference? How much is it down to the car as well?

An Anker 2A car charger will give you around 1% charge per minute.

But yes if using sat nav at the same time the Dash charger will be a huge improvement.

Blimey... if I order the dash charger on normal delivery it takes 2 weeks. Do they over estimate on accessories too?

i just use a belkin adapter (forget the power output, nothing really special), charges fine while using google maps nav.

Mine arrived earlier and really liking it so far. Coming from a Nexus 4 so it's a huge upgrade. Might take me a bit to get used to screen size though.

Got mine set up properly this morning and really liking it! Everything is so slick and smooth and FAST!

Not a massive jump in screen size as I've come from a Moto X Play (which my wife has now inherited) but it's much thinner and so much FASTER!

Need to find a desktop dock/charger now as I use my phone as my bedside clock/alarm. Probably just get a 2A charger for overnight as it plugs in under my bed and the Dash charger gets very warm so I'd rather not use it overnight...

Did I say the phone was FAST?

Right I have an iPhone 7 in order and I've had iPhones for a while. What are the negatives to switching to a Oneplus 3? How are they?

Only just read about them and they look quite impressive!!

Thanks :)

My thoughts after a week of ownership coming from a Z3.

Good Points
  • Phone is gorgeous, light, thin, premium looking, can't fault it. Glass nice and smooth. Only downside is the camera protrusion on the back, but I have a case on anyway so that's not an issue for me. But even with the case it feels nicer in the pocket than the Z3 even though it is bigger.
  • Having never had a phone with a fingerprint scanner I wasn't sure what to expect, but it is awesome. It is so fast it feels instantaneous, and so accurate I rarely have to try more than once. Compared to the wife's 5s, this is just superb.
  • As mentioned above the phone is quick, fast, very fast. It's noticeably quicker opening apps in a side by side comparison with the Z3.
  • The dash charger is fantastic, 63% charge in 30 mins is perfect for a quick top up. The battery can get me through a day but can't manage 24hrs. But I've found the dash charge so convenient that it really isn't an issue. A dash charger for the car will probably mean I don't use the normal charger during the week.
  • Oxygen OS. There are some really nice features, I love the gestures for the camera, torch and song skipping, the first 2 I use all the time. The shelf is quite handy but not a deal breaker. I'm not mad keen on the massive 'looking' round folders. But it's not full of bloat, is very clean looking and very snappy.
  • The photos I have taken so far have been great, I was out last night and the low light ones have been very good too. Didn't try any in the dark and I haven't tried video yet so can't comment on that yet.

Bad Points
  • There are a couple of gripes however, I keep getting a message from Mobile Broadcast with my local area code in, a quick search suggests I'm not the only one and I haven't figured out how to get rid of it.
  • The second is WiFi, it seems to randomly drop WiFi every now and again for no specific reason, as above, I'm not the only one and there doesn't appear to be a solution yet.

Summary
But despite these minor problems, I am very pleased so far. It's shaping up to be the best Android phone I've owned. This is coming from the Z3, which I loved and is the only phone I've ever owned for 2yrs.

Nice little review Egon.

I like how I can customise extra functions to the buttons. I have the fingerprint sensor to lock the phone on a long press, it's so convenient. And the wave over proximity sensor to see notifications.

If this phone had 128GB/or sd slot and stereo speakers it would have been nigh on perfect for me.

Just looking at these now, I hadn't noticed them, very useful! You can customise the capacitive buttons too, each one has its normal function but also the option to set a double tap and long press feature.

Is that wave over proximity sensor already enabled or do I need to switch it on?
