**** The Official OnePlus 3 Thread ****

@Kona - Mate it's as official as it gets now.
Is it enough to tempt you away from your OP3?

My mind's made up and will be ditching my Z Play for this phone. It's a superb improvement from the OP3 and that device wasn't too shabby at all!

Stings a little in that a £309 phone has now become a £400 phone. I know they're still selling the OP3 (not sure why TBH, why not just replace it completely?) but you can't blame Brexit for all of it! :p

They are effectively replacing the OP3 with the OP3T - they're just selling off old stock. In an XDA article they're actually saying that OnePlus currently only have the means to produce one phone (SKU) at any given time. So once the OP3's are out of stock, they'll be gone forever.

The price increase is reasonable especially given the modest spec bump - but shouldn't be anything to tempt away existing OP3 owners unless they really need 128gb or a 16mp front camera.

Need to see some reviews but I like that they put a big battery in it, the one in my OP2 is abysmal. Also £40 extra for double the storage seems like a steal.

meh tbh.

I would much rather have a better rear camera + better speaker(s) than just more storage and a slightly better chipset with a slightly bigger battery.

I've been living with a 2nd gen Moto G (3G!!) for the past year or so, maybe it's time I treated myself :p

1GB ram and 8GB memory gets tiresome after a while, I've been of the 'I want an upgrade, but don't need an upgrade' train of though for a while.

It's not a big enough upgrade for me as to be expected. I'll for wait the OP4. You'll love this phone mate. Well I hope you will.

:( Small kick in the teeth for us early OP3 buyers. For €40 I would have gotten the T.

As others mentioned I don't like the constant raise in price. I feel they will end up similar to Google. The Nexus was a great bang for buck and now they decided to ditch that idea for a more 'luxurious' Pixel. I don't care about Apple-looking adverts. I don't care about what % of people use Android vs % of people using Apple. I care about a good phone for a good price. Hopefully my OP3 lasts for ~3 years then I can jump on the next good bang for buck phone :D

It's not 40 though is it?

One Plus 3T on the site says from £399.99

American get it for $40 more though :(

I don't see what the camera upgrade is - the OP3, according to their spec page, is using the same sensor? So where's this extra £70 going? Price already increased due to brexit, can't use that excuse again...

Same sensor but ois and eis now work together for video recording, higher mp front camera.

Price mark ups likely due to SD821, it's reportedly quite expensive(David ruddock spoke on it briefly, prior to Pixel launch) hence why nobody's really using it aside from OnePlus and Google.

Fair play Mate the OP3 is a superb device and not shabby at all and is one of the stand out devices of 2016 IMO. The only thing stopping me getting this device was the 64Gb memory but OP have fixed that.

Now I can stop lusting after my colleague's OP3! so no doubt I will love the OP3T! ;)

You can Pre-Order it at O2 from the 17th. Does anyone know if I would be able to pre-order in store without the need to purchase a contract?

If its anything like the OP3 you could only get them on PAYG for a very short time, then you had to buy them on a contract.

The good news is that you can use the O2 refresh program, which is what I did, you get the phone on the pay nothing, lowest contract deal you can get, and ask to do it on a "Refresh" contract. This separates the 0% finance for the phone from the contract, and as soon as you pay off the phone then the contract lapses.

And you can pay the phone off the same day if you want, then either get rid of the contract completely or upgrade it to a cheap SIM only deal with O2 to use as your second SIM.
