**** The Official OnePlus 5 Thread ****

I'd imagine it will be more like £500. But either way I'm interested too, if I'm not happy with my incoming P2XL this is next on the list.

Pete Lau is such a tease. First the cracking photo for the updated camera setup and now he's talking about Samsung OLED displays. What a coincidence.

They’ve always used Samsung OLED for their OLED displays

I’m pretty disappointed by the choice of increasing megapixel count again.

I thought the market got over the MP race since the S7 series?

12MP is enough.

Sure, the camera might be good enough, but it’s knowing it could have been better if they used their brain.

And releasing a new phone everytime people don’t like the current one? They need to grow up and design it right in the first place, or they’re gonna p*ss off all their loyal customers and techies, which quite frankly, is all they have.

It annoyed me when the response I got for sending my OnePlus back for the jelly effect is “every OnePlus 5 is made with the same high quality display, and is thoroughly tested to make sure it operates within the design parameters”

It might be made with the same display, but it doesn’t mean you didn’t design it incorrectly when deciding to flip the display upside down. Poor design choice.

^^ Yep, I for one won't be buying it until 1. I'm convinced from the community they have sorted out bugs and 2. OIS, because let's be honest, they damn well need it

Is the camera setup likely to be the same as the one of the OnePlus 5? I.e. a standard and a 'telephoto' lens?

Think I would prefer a monochrome and RGB sensor setup - especially if they can execute it as well as Huawei do.

I might get it, I'm not impressed by the Pixel phones and Samsung's memory management is still rubbish.

OP5 didn't seem like much of an improvement and had it's own issues, but hopefully the OP5T will be different.

Bah 1.6x optical zoom then - I just don't see the point in that personally, especially when the telephoto lens tends to be quite a bit slower & the pixel size smaller. I.e. unless you're in a well lit scenario, it's going to be useless.

Hmmm, the more I think/read about it the more this phone (5T) appeals to me.

I'm getting my Pixel 2XL on or around the 15-17th November, this is apparently being launched 16 November, and released on the 20th....

Edit: Carl Pei teasing on Twitter..

"What phone is he taking that photo with?..."

I know Imgur and/or Twitter are pretty poor for compression so this doesn't telly you much but hey..

Hi guys,

Got my official tempered glass protector today and it didn't got well... I followed the instructions to the letter but still ended up with a load of mess behind the screen AND bubbles that just won't clear

I've never used a glass protector before, I'm guessing you can remove, clean, and then replace? It looks awful atm. Any tips?

Thanks.
