**** The Official OnePlus 5 Thread ****

Hmm this new model could tempt me if they get the camera to be at least as good as the 5x/6p/pixel HDR+ mode....

Pixel 2 is a no go for me purely due to the bezels and smaller screen than my current 5x + ridiculous price tag and the only other option is the gs8, which I don't mind as it is a solid phone especially for <£500 but the old issue of samsungs performance getting worse after 6+ months put me of and the slow/lack of updates once the gs 9 comes out soon also puts me of but then again, I suppose that issue will also apply to the one plus 5t.......

Damn, I'm kicking myself as I always fall into the same trap in listening to the idiots on neowin. You'd think I'd learn over the years.
Atleast you admit when you've made a mistake, ha.

The headphone output while not V30 level, is nice and strong with good dynamic range. A hell of an improvement over my old Nexus 6.

Thought my battery was draining a bit faster than usual today, and when I checked:

Any ideas? I've cleared the cache and restarted a couple of times but no joy...

Android being Android unfortunately. Android system is a renowned battery drainer all the way back to Lollipop.

Just taken my phone out of it's case to fit a stupidly fat 3.5mm adapter and the phone just feels so light and thin. It's a lovely device but I wish someone would just make a phone designed with a case-like removable back and fit a bigger battery and better speakers etc as for a huge amount of people the fancy phone spends 95% of it's time in a big case anyway.

Better than stock on a pixel? As nice as stock I'm definately keen to see it now. WIll be ordering the 5t I think
The only thing stock wins at on a Pixel is fast updates, otherwise Oxygen OS is basically stock with a nice load of customisation features, updates are steady and OS updates come a few months after Pixel.

Speed wise it's rapid.

Thats great, needs to be out now then! When the 5 was released, were there shortages or any nonsense around orders?
Was released around 20th June i think, i managed to order one on launch date. You could walk into an O2 shop and have a play with the OP5. They still have stocks of both 64/128GB models for about £449 and £499 i think.

I believe it's around 15th Nov they're looking to announce/launch the 5T, so O2 may drop the current prices around then.
