**** The Official OnePlus 5 Thread ****

"50% off our OnePlus 5T Early Bird Bundle with the purchase of a OnePlus 5T", can't find any cases or screen protectors in stock yet so this sounds good.

Not sure what the second camera is doing, doesn't seem very intelligent to me..

However, it's still the same primary shooter as the OP5 so it was never going to be GS8 or Pixel 2 quality, most of the comparisons I've seen look more than good enough to me.

Maybe they can tweak the software, this is the same company that released the OP5 with no stabilization at all for 4K

To be honest even the telephoto lens offered more than this. I don't know what was going through their mind.

This is what happens when marketers design a phone, rather than an engineer.

1.6x zoom never really appealed to me, from a marketing point of view wouldn't that have been easier to sell with both the latest phones from Samsung and Apple offering similar solutions.

I think the other way round. Remember, OnePlus was born on the idea you could get what Samsung and Apple are offering, at a lower price.

Except now they don't offer telephoto or good lowlight shots. A step backwards.

very positive impressions and reviews. If the pixel was cheaper with a better screen i'd have gone for that but this is by far best bang for buck for a more stock android experience. My S7E is lagging like mad these days.

edit: i checked the XL in the shop and the blue tint was enough to do my head in. I cant begin to imagine what it would be like when sat on a dock for navigation either.

Have you had a Pixel 2 XL in hand, or just going by reviews? Its not as bad as they make it out to be
Yes, finally saw one yesterday in person. They haven't sorted out the natural mode by calibrating the reds (why?), instead they've included a super saturated mode that looks almost neon like. Then there's the blue shift which is quite noticeable to me. Lastly, those side bezels are twice as big as they should be (as big as the Nexus 6 which is 3 years old), makes the phone look dated.

These odd decisions puzzle me on a £900 phone.

I've owned curved phones with tiny bezels. Pretty, but not great from a utility stand point. In their situation, I'd have done the same.

With regards to optimising calibration, it is indeed a bit daft. Just boosting saturation rather than properly calibrating. Blue shift doesn't bother me - all phones I've had the last few years exhibit some sort of shift, with my most recent G6 being extremely difficult to see ever so slightly off axis (though like due to screen protector). But it doesn't bother me

Regarding the size bezels and 2.5d glass, the 5 and 5T is about spot on IMO.

so this would be fair upgrade to me old note4 ? and half the price of the note 8. Sure wont be as powerful and stuff but not to far off.
