**** The Official OnePlus 5 Thread ****

Having experienced a significantly bad experience with Oneplus I don't recommend them to anyone :(.

I hear the phones are good, but the support is abysmal.

careful, hate towards oneplus doesn't go down well on here

I agree after owning a oneplus x and oneplus 3. Hardware is fantastic, software bugs and support terrible.

Going to see if I can head along to the pop-up launch tomorrow since it's only 15 mins from the office. I'm interested in the phone but the design has put me off a bit. Will be good to see it in the flesh, depending on how big the queue is...

I quite like the idea of this phone, shame its an iPhone copy though. What are the thoughts on price? £500?

I had a bit of on issue with their support too, but willing to give them another go.

I'm thinking £479 or something. It's a shame their price has crept up and up over the generations.

I had a big problem with their customer support trying to buy the original OnePlus One. They told me it had been sent out and gave me a tracking number, but that never worked and nothing ever arrived. They ignored all my support tickets and I had to open a dispute with PayPal to get the money back. I was not impressed....

Love my Plus 3 to death, one of the best phones I've ever owned. But if the 5 is more then £450 then I'm not interested. Seems so against what the philosophy of the company was originally.

Then again, I suppose it's still quite reasonable when compared with other flagships...

There is a post on reddit from someone who works for a Finnish operator, they said popups will be selling them tomorrow (21st) and then 27th for all other stores.

Im heading to the pop up shop launch tomorrow as it's just up the road from me and my Z3 is on its last legs. If it's as good as it looks in the flesh I think I'll get one

Waiting for camera comparison, if they've managed to pull of flagship or better performance it's worth every penny.

If they fall short it may backfire as they've made bugger all improvements to the rest of the phone.

I'm more interested in the backend software changes. Improvements to the softwares ability to focus and apply compression/hdr algorithms. Hardware specs are meaningless to me these days.

I'll watch the live event, but if it's nothing more than pub talk specs I'll be bored to death

Agreed, which is why I'm waiting for a camera comparison. :D

I'm not sure why they are banging on about the design so much. It's just a copy and paste of the iPhone.

The phone might be great, but don't try and convince us the design is anything unique.
