**** The Official OnePlus 7/OnePlus 7 Pro Thread ****

4 hours SoT? Ouch.

He says 4.5 hours with 12% left earlier in the video then says 4 hours at the end - at the end of the day turn the brightness down a touch and if needed turn down to 60hz and I bet it goes to 5/6+ hours.

Mine sits on my desk next to a charger most of the day so SoT isn't really any issue for me personally.

Ah, I just heard the bit towards the end, so basically it's around 5 hours with all the bells and whistles turned on. Hopefully OnePlus do also release adaptive refresh rate which should help a little. All in all I guess my statement from earlier in the thread still stands, for a bigger screen than most of its competitors and 90Hz, it's about what you would expect.

I'm in no rush to buy this straight away so can just wait to see how fellow OCUKers get on with it.

EDIT: Just to add to how battery usage can vary, here's a video of OP7 Pro beating S10+ by almost 50 minutes and having around 6h:47m SoT :D

That's it really - people will find what they want to find. SoT is so subjective - heavy duty gaming for 4 hours will clearly smash the battery/SoT down - texting/whatapp/facebook SoT is a totally different thing. Brightness etc?

It's all very much down to the individual test.

I'm very disappointed with the 7s camera's given their hype at the presentation. Large disparity of colour rendition between lenses, lacks detail and sharpness on wide and zoom, nearly always overexposed, water painting wehn pixel peeping. Just terrible. Night mode while ok, is not a patch on even xaiomis night mode.

That DxO score, what a joke.

I really don't get the obsession with having the perfect camera in a phone. If taking an amazing photo really matters that much, then you should be using a proper digital camera and not a phone anyway.

I'm sure the oneplus 7 pro's camera is perfectly good enough for casual snaps.

Yeah haven't been blown away by the camera, maybe reviewers are still on older software? DXO mentions it's running a version that will be available to general public at the end of the month. Video I linked above with gcam does show a good improvement so maybe we will see better performance soon.

Then again I had P30 Pro which is the joint highest scorer on DXO and returned that because of the camera so maybe it's just a really rubbish test :D

You're right. You don't get it.

@neoboy - madness if they have better cam software yet didn't give it to the reviewers. Saw the gcam video in this thread, improvement definitely bit still not consistent.

Having watched a few videos on the OP7P this week, I am kind of interested in this, maybe even becoming my main daily. Were some sold a few days ago, now sold out with the next batch in a few days? Or, is the actual release coming in a few days?

Will be available from John Lewis next week.

Please note: The camera firmware used for the DxOMark tests is not yet currently available to consumers. OnePlus will make it available as an over-the-air update before the end of the month.

No clue what software most Youtubers are running for their comparisons.

So it will. It wasn't on there a few days back. Is it expected to be available the same day it's available from the official OnePlus site? **EDIT** Sorry, I've just seen it saying available 21st May.

Mind you, I was thinking of going all the way for the 12GB version. Total overkill, but...

You sure Andy? The FPS seems to be pretty much the same tech as with the 6T, admittedly quicker and a larger sensor area. You didn't have much luck with the former.

After seeing the keynote, I'll definitely be sticking to my OP6T McLaren edition until at least the next couple of years. Out of the two devices the OP7 would have been the one I would have gone for as I don't like curved screens. Albeit the OP7 is a refresh of the 6T, for all intent and purposes it's the OP6TS.

OP are selling it for a good price we get only one colour (Grey) whereas India and China get the Red version just adds to deferring a purchase this year.

I'm in it for a few snaps/family pictures etc - I ain't bothered about pixel peeping/stunning low light pictures etc. All this rubbish about comparing it with S10+ etc seems mental when it costs £200/£250 more. i.e 30% more than OP7 pro......

I mean who, other than youtubers etc, are going to record videos of the dog running around/kids on their bikes etc in 4k @ 60 fps etc.

In all fairness with the cost of latest mobiles, unless you just like tech, is it ever worth it upgrading to the next generation? Most upgrades are incremental nowadays so majority will upgrade on their 24 month contract cycle.

As for comparing to S10+, that's been out for 2 over two months so has already been on sale for similar money to Pro version.

I haven't seen the s10+ for anywhere near £650. Where are you looking?
