*** The Official Playstation 4 (PS4) Thread ***

Well I think the PS2 was the worst looking and then the 'fat' PS3's.

The original Playstation 3 was horrible, the slim was very nice and the super slim went back to being horrible, looks like a cheap knock-off! I think the best looking console this gen is probably the Xbox 360 slim with the matte finish. I've had both matte and gloss and the gloss one picked up dust and fingerprints like there was no tomorrow.

Seriously? I find the fat one so much better looking. Although the slim PS2 was the best...

I think it's the horrible Spiderman font which ruins the fat, the slim is much nicer to me! As for the slim Playstation 2 it does look nice stood up vertically with nothing plugged in but as soon as you plug your controller and memory card in it makes it look like a kid's toy. :p

Yeah that's true. Wireless controllers did wonders for consoles. I remember when I lived with my parents, Dad wouldn't let us use consoles in the living room as it made it too messy.

I think the Xbox looks ok too and will sit nicely underneath my amp.

Underneath? You'll be blocking the fan in that case.

I still miss my original PS3, still got it but it gave me the YLoD so its in its box. Since replaced it with a 320GB slim, one of the better ones with the illuminated buttons as opposed to the revised one. Not a fan of the super-slim one at all, looks quite tacky.

I quite liked the 'Spiderman' style logo on the original, plus the cool jingle when you started a game. Wish they'd made that optional instead of removing it completely.

Been reminded by Kill regards PlayTV, any details for PlayTV HD to hit the PS4? Amazon listed the device but its never been much more than a rumour. PlayTV on the PS3 Ive found very useful - amazingly Im one of those people that does watch TV on their console

Probably something they'll develop later down the line, it was only sold in a few markets so it's probably not a major selling point unless they intend to take it further ala the Xbox One.

Hopefully it will be sooner rather than later, might help me decide when I get the new consoles - as in the final straw...
Would be cool if they could build the capability into the console and offer it as part of Playstation Plus, I guess the costs wouldn't be worth it though.
Too many regions with differing broadcast specifications so pretty unlikely and as you said it adds to the cost and might be a feature the majority dont want/need...

Think I'll keep my phat purely for blu ray - ps1, ps2 games. One good thing about the next gen is there's going to be some cheap feature rich blu ray players. (Ps3) :D

Makes me wonder how far away it is from launching... Considering they're advertising "coming soon" in May

Are they really going to keep those things in shops right up to Christmas?

I wonder if they're planning on an earlier release than expect :D
