*** The Official Playstation 4 (PS4) Thread ***

Will probably place a preorder after E3 to see if I actully want one. Though with the MGS games I probably will :o

I have a day-1 preorder but if Sony go the way of Microsoft at E3 then it'll be cancelled immediately. I'm not even going to entertain the thought of putting up with any nonsense.

Looks like the press conference is only an hour long, it's going to be a tight reveal. I'm guessing what the system looks like, a couple of games but no mention of the price.

Preordered :) At this point I don't care about used games or drm, it seems to be the way the industry is heading and moaning about it isnt going to change anything. Ive learnt my lesson with my ps3 and most likely will be keeping all/most of my games anyway, rather than trading them in only to rebuy them at a later date when I fancy playing them again.

I just took it from some chap at Game who posted a picture of his itinerary on twitter (would post a pic, but I'm on my phone). It says Sony press conference 6pm-7pm. I'll be happy if it's two hours, although very tired tuesday morning.

for the people saying you cannot remove the battery of the ds4, i have opened up 2 ds3's as well as 2 six axis controllers to fix the left thumb sticks (worn away from use).

the six axis controllers are much better built than ds3's and that was surprising. probably part of cost cutting exercise, so the newer your pad the likely cheaper made it is.

the batteries can also be easily removed and replaced, it's very simple to do.

i found the first controller i opened up the hardest to do, once i had done that the rest were done in a few minutes, im talking thumbsticks here which are the hardest part to get to, the battery is far easier.

i have yet to replace a battery even though i have had to replace multiple thumbsticks, so that should reflect how long the batteries should last, im guessing a lifetime of use.

So anyone fancy guessing the release price?

My bet is the low end model will be £329 and the top end model will be £399/£429.

I think thats pretty much bang on the money. I'll happily pay £429 providing E3 turns out well :)
