*** The Official Playstation 4 (PS4) Thread ***

I need to buy a new headset now as well. Just used it on bf4 for 20 mins, went the loo, came back down and my kitten has chewed right through it, it's now in 3 pieces :/

I quite like the look fo the Official 4gamers one, seems to be some confusion on whether it's wireless or not but at £60 it's at my top limit for a headset.
I don't even play online much but I want to have one just incase. It's out in Feb

I currently use the P4C headset until something better comes out, it'll do for now, cheap and it'll be alright for backup. I do find it's a bit muffled though.

For anyone wanting the red or blue dual shock 4 controllers Tesco have stock. Just ordered one of each to see which one I prefer.

Nowhere else seems to have stock and they go for silly prices on eBay so grab one while you can. I did clarify on their online chat that they do have stock so it's not an error. Hope this helps someone out. :)

I prefer my red over my blue. Then the next day I prefer my blue over my red. Then I'm back again to the other. The black one is still in it's casing though :p

Playstation Now announced.

http://uk.ign.com/articles/2014/01/07/sony-reveals-its-streaming-service-playstation-now

Looks good, streaming to a Vita is a good idea.

Today at CES, Sony revealed PlayStation Now, an all-new games streaming service that will allow "classic" PlayStation games to be played across current-gen PlayStation hardware, as well as directly on other non-gaming platforms. PlayStation Now harnesses the power of Gaikai, the company Sony purchased for $380 million back in the summer of 2012.

The idea behind PlayStation Now is simple: you will ultimately no longer need to keep a PSone, PlayStation 2, or PlayStation 3 around to experience games from those consoles. PlayStation Now will allow streaming of classics from those systems to not only PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita, but to televisions, tablets, and smartphones.

Considering stock has been very limited, this is very impressive. Pretty much outsold or extremely close to outselling the Wii U's LTD sales in 6 weeks.

PlayStation Now sounds good, but I'm sure I've seen the phrase "new subscription model" which suggest even if you have PS+, you'll need to pay extra to access it.

Also doesn't sound like it's coming to the EU any time soon.

So Gaikai is going to be a subscription service that could be on top of PS+.

It's an interesting idea and I wonder when the UK will get it.

I wonder if playstation now multiplayer will require ps+.

Now the real question comes......"How can they identify which PS2/3 games I own that I can stream, or will they make me rebuy them :( "

I'm going to try my VITA Remote play over the Internet when I get a chance. By all accounts its playable, so with dedicated servers doing the processing and just sending inputs maybe it will be even better than non LAN Remoteplay (assuming you are on a decent connection) for a lot of games.

Don't like the idea of streaming games as the internet in my area sucks :( I wonder if they will add games to the PS store as well.

Impressive sales figures, 4.2 million is a lot, and x1 sold 3 odd million as well. Ps4 isn't even out in japan yet.. Who said console gaming was dead to mobile gaming again?

Vita remote play over 3G just about works.. It worked for Resogun and fifa 14, I used a friends 40MB fibre to a PS4 connected to a 60MB virgin media line, obviously only was quick as the upload from the cable line, but it was reasonable.. Wouldn't want to play killzone over it, but zen pinball and again resogun and fifa 14 worked fine.
