the ds4 is a fantastic controller, best Sony has ever engineered. but I agree the build quality is just not there. mine is creeking and I had rubber peeling on one of mine. they just don't feel as robust as the ds3. still a great controller but at the asking prices you'd expect better build quality.

yet the ps4 itself, that holds in my hands like a really solid well built unit. I'm still amazed they packed it all into that one box without needing an external power supply..
 
Oh I agree the controller feels awesome to use, I haven't got the peeling/cracked rubber with mine yet but the right trigger has gone, it creeks like you said and it looks like it doesn't want to charge unless I position the cable in a certain way :/
 
like said lovely to use but mine is cracking on the right side as if oin's are coming apart.
But might be the pressure i put on it after being shot through wall lol

I wouldn't let it worry you to much, it's really easy to sort, took less than 5 mins for mine, just pop the buttons off with a small flat screw driver between the R1/R2 L1/L2 buttons, clean the guides and put some Vaseline on them to stop it happening again.
 
be nice to play my ps4 again now I've recovered from this horrible throat infection... haven't turned my ps4 on since last Thursday, nearly a week lol longest its gone in standby since I purchased it...

can't be doing playing games when my energy is barely enough to watch a movie.

now, do I buy tomb raider or not. its now reported to run at 30fps which tbh I thought they'd get a bit more, so have then gone for ultra eye candy or is that the best it could do? killzone looked amazingly good, is that locked to 30fps I seem to remember reading it wasn't locked.
 
All set for ACIV now, having finished Knack last night......Killzone already done, too.
Figured I would need a clear run @ ACIV :p

I fully expected Tomb Raider to be 30fps to be honest, it does look awesome though. I played it on PC, but have just ordered it for PS4 as I thought it was an amazing game. Cant wait to play it again. KZSF wasnt locked, it slid between 30 and 60fps, which was a strange way of doing things in my opinion. It would have felt awful with a mouse.
 
How noisy is too noisy when it comes to PS4s? Mine is very loud (fan noise and disk spin) when starting up and seems to pump out quite a lot of heat during gaming.

If you've already played it on the previous-gen, I'd say no. It's the exact same game with fancier visuals, it isn't going to dramatically transform how the game plays.

It's louder than my xbox one but not by much. When playing a game I can't hear any noise at all.

You can hear mine when playing games. Killzone makes the fan ramp up quite a bit.

It's not massively loud but is certainly noticeable. I have heard quite a few and all have been about the same.

I swear all thats happened is shes washed her hair this time, as it looked very matted on the PS3 :p

I dont see the point of the DE, to me it justs a cross-gen game that had seperate launch dates for current gen and last gen and is pitched within that game dry spell on purpose...

Recently completed inFamous 1 (again) and 2 in prep for this, cannot wait! Love the facial animations, very well done!

Something learned, and no i dont use it with condoms, dont need too.

Tomb raider looks great, never played it on PS3 so will wait till it's cheaper and get it on the 4, Infamous looks fantastic and cant wait for that game.
