*** The Official Playstation 4 (PS4) Thread ***

Ok so basically I have lots of free time today so I'm going to try and fix it with all the various methods I've seen on the Internet.

1. Tighten the screw that's located by the hard drive. (Just did this and my screw was rather loose, Sony say it's suppose to be tight).
2. Rebuild database in safe mode (Done)
3. Initialise the PS4 in safe mode (Currently in process may take a while).

Hopefully something comes from this, will only be able to tell in a few days time

LOL, reading this thread doesn't exactly instill confidence in would-be buyers what with dicky PS4 consoles and dicky DS4 controllers. :(

Underneath there is a small rubber strip that fills the groove under the disc space, pull it out.

Don't think I see this, had a little look and nothing there.

It sounds faulty, probably an issue with the eject button. Get it replaced.
I would just return it to wherever you purchased it from and have it replaced. It should not be doing that.

Yea probably will do that, but searching the issue I have seems like it's happening to quite a few others. If these things don't fix it would you recommend ringing Sony or taking it back to GAME?

Me personally I would return to the retailer as per the sale of goods act and let them deal with the manufacturer if needed but as it's under a year old I would expect an exchange.

Sadly new games consoles have teething problems once in the wild.

the 360 would die quicker then they could sell them once in their life span... The Ps3 would YOLD for quite a few until the slim came along.

As always, SOGA is your friend with the purchase of new tech. I went through 3 PS3 for dead blu ray drives. I wasn't impressed, but it didn't put me off buying a Ps4 at launch.

Just the nature of new gen consoles sadly.

Yea mine is only 3 months old, so if these fixes don't stop the annoying beeping or eject loop then I will definitely take it to GAME and exchange for a new one.

Looking forward to a revision since I find this one running really hot and considerably noisier than my xbox.

Swop it, mine doesn't run hot.

Going GAME tomorrow. Console turned itself on again and started beeping.

Do I need to take everything with me? I bought the second son bundle, so do I pack in the wires, console, controller and game?

PS4 consoles are fine zero issues apart from they stupidly didn't put enough rubber feet on the bottom of it. Can be fixed easily enough if you have vibration issues (I don't) by sticking something under a corner (a little piece of rubber is probably best).

As for the DS4 nothing wrong with them apart from the rubber on the thumbsticks (a minor issue not a major one also). I think once they make a more tougher material to use on the thumbsticks we will be fine. It's obviously poor grade rubber.

I think it's complete (bad)luck if you get a crappy controller or not. My controller is completely fine.

I think it makes sense to buy those controller protector packs that cover the stricks etc... only a few quid and will keep it looking pristine whether oyu have a dodgy one or not.

Ok I think I'm going to switch to Sony this gen.

My local Tesco where last night doing PS4, WatchDogs and Wolfenstein for 399. Anyone got any better bundles than this?

Also the controllers seem at bit steep at £50, any place doing good deals with these?
