Also the Brazilian river place is doing various colour controllers for £40 if anyone needs a new one.
Was hoping to pickup the DualSense Edge on the cheap with a Black Friday deal, but they still want £180 which is to much.
You only live once.
It’s a great controller and the exchangeable sticks should mean it lasts for years.
I love the DualSense, really comfortable and the haptics are great when done well.
Just wish it had replaceable rechargeable batteries ike Xbox though.
Astrobot really spoiled us by showing what they could do, and then 99% of games I played just had a bit of resistance on triggers for bows and guns etc. Criminally underutilized imo. Playing Astrobot on launch day is one of the very very few gaming memories I hold fondly in recent times, though I recognize a lot of that was the nostalgia from all the little collectibles and stuff, but still was a fun game.
before you buy it just check you don't already own it via PS Essential/Extra ... it was one of the claimable games during the pandemic.Oh, Alan Wake Remastered on PS5 is only £6.26, going to grab this, I had wanted it on PC but not through Epic.
I'd argue it's not a great controller if you have to keep changing the sticks because they are using crappy ones that still get stick drift. On a £200 controller, laughable.
Stick issues aside, the Edge also has dire battery life, if I had a choice I'd use the XBox Elite controller, I use that on my PC and it is brilliant (and the Elite 2 improves on it), shame it's not compatible with the PS5. Scuff Reflex might be an option, but it's pricey and you don't have the option of toggling the triggers between instant and adaptive. I mentioned the AIM Controllers earlier in the thread, but dang are they expensive......but you can customise them so much and they do have Hall Effect sticks if you want them.
I’ve had multiple Xbox elite controllers and they all developed stick drift.
Bought a release day ps5 and didn’t get drift on the standard DS. Been using the DS-E with PC for a year now and no sign of drift so it’s already out lasted any elite I’ve owned.
Just nice to know the sticks can be changed if necessary
Part of me "wants" to get a DS Edge, but the short battery life and stick drift issue gives me pause. Yes, I know the sticks can be replaced but those parts seem to be hard to come by. Good to hear your controller is still going strong ... I can say the same for my Xbox Elite 2 controller, but I "bought" that with MS Reward points so had less guilt if it suffered a malfunction.Had my DS edge since Feb 2023. Still on the original sticks and don’t experience drift despite putting some serious hours into MW2 and now BO6, I only tend to use it for FPS. I have some spare sticks for when I eventually need to change them. I couldn’t play a FPS without the edge now.

I'm with @Noxia on this one ; the Elite/Edge controllers don't represent good value for money - the failure rates are simply too high.
Same - my gaming sessions are usually between 2-3 hrs. I use 2 standard dualsense controllers ( with the official charging dock ), and have never had to stop due to lack of battery charge. But I would comment that sometimes the charge can deplete rapidly depending on the game / use of haptics.Out of interest how long do you game for? I’ve never had the controller run out of battery during a session, I only manage around 3 hours tops nowadays. Gone are the days going 8 hours plus
Got mine too, they actually look a lot better in the flesh than they photograph.Got my DualSense this morning from Amazon, it looks great in the flesh.
