Nintendo have some of the best games this generation and graphically its a PS3 at best. Games are 95% of a console and graphics the other 5%. If you have the best exclusives and the largest playerbase you have the best console. A 5% more powerful console won't make any difference.

What good is amazing hardware if you don't have the amazing games to back it up?

Saying the only thing Sony have is exclusives is a little short sighted.

The only thing Sony have had for the last 2 generations are exclusives... it's what keeps people coming back.

I agree it looks an impressive bit of hardware, Sony won't be a million miles away.

No, I totally agree on the first point, what I mean is the package that MS have put together looks incredible and is going to be hard to top. Don't get me wrong, I for one adopted the PS4 first and then Xbox - I shall be picking up PS5 first as I did 7 years ago.

What I meant, was that Sony haven't offered anything other than what exclusives they have (should have made this clearer)... Not even a peak at what it looks like is letting MS take all the hype at the moment. So again, Sony will have to bring something special to the table to take eyes off the Series X imo. I am hopeful of some gameplay of exclusive PS5 'enhanced' games like FF7 Remake and Ghosts of Tsushima - as this would cement my decision.

No, I know the hardware will pretty much be trading blow for blow - perhaps I am just letting my annoyance of Sony not releasing any physical details cloud my thoughts :p

You're not the only one. As a fan, I feel a little (only a little) offended by Sony seemingly just relying on the fact I'm a fan and not actually doing anything to get my attention. Yes, two major exclusives to come out this year (if FF remake can be counted as such), but those I can play on my PS4 - I want them to sell me on upgrading!

Did Sony say they want to take a more Apple-like approach in that they'll show the hardware in September and it'll be available in November. So a very short lead time instead of six months or more.

Yes! This was what I was trying to get across, glad I am not the only one feeling the same :). I've got a feeling Sony will adopt the same 'Smart Delivery' approach to align with MS as details on actual 'physical platform' exclusives aka PS5 only are non-existent (bar Godfall) but there are more 'generation' exclusives like Outriders and LotR Gollum to look forward to.

Oh my days. This is chuffin' brilliant, having all this information within 48 hours. What a week!

Seems this was already planned for GDC and not a sudden counteracting of Microsoft's reveal on Monday.

What rubbish, even the Wii U was more powerful than the PS3.

Not that power matters, but I have no idea what you've been smoking to come up with that idea.
