Every USB c to 3.5mm has one. There's a Samsung original part/numerous 3rd parties
I'm not using a USB c to 3.5mm, I am using a USB B to USB-C cable. My DAC uses a USB-B fo audio from a Phone.
Exactly, why would one of those have a dac in it.. I think you're either stuck or looking for something very specific.
60 bucks for a cable for sound?
Yep & Why not?
Because unless there's some kind of fancy DAC in there (I presume not because you're connecting it to a DAC) it literally won't do anything to the quality of a digital signal?
Well when it comes I'll test is against the £7 one & let you if it did sound better or the same.
I bought this

Fixed my problem.
So I'm gonna give this a go & hopefully get some high quality sound.

Thanks for your help.
This still isn't clear to me.. the way I understand it now having seen those cables is that you had a USB-c to USB-A cable plugged into a USB-A to USB-B adapter then into the DAC and that's what wasn't working?
So now you've gone directly from USB-C to USB-B and thats picking up that it's plugged into a DAC for audio and it's stopped outputting via the speakers?
Would be good to be clear as I'm sure others may experience this.. your situation is niche but not a one off I'm sure.
Unless it is a blind ABX test, you have to factor in placebo. It is literally impossible for a digital signal to 'sound better' because it is all 1's and 0's and if they get to their destination as they should you will hear sound as you expect. If they don't, you'll get very noticeable cut-outs and artefacts.
