I'm glad how dark the blue is on the front:
I know beauty is in the eye of the beholder and all that but i really struggle to see why people are outraged by the design (unless its just one of those good old internet opinion snowballs).
Looks very similar to the nexus, and infinitely better than the horrendous brick like design of the GS2.
Aside from the marble finish effect (which is not even visible half the time it seems) its a solid looking phone.
*edit* though admittedly its not as good looking as the One X

They couldn't pick a clear winner but as expected the S3 seems to be better if you compare all of the features side by side.
The camera also looks better however the conditions seem to be different (and they said as much) so it's not entirely reliable and zoomed out there's probably little to no difference.
It keeps in line with the Galaxy S II (though it's not entirely reliable as it factors in things you may never do).
They aren't impressed with the design and feel though (and they actually have one, so no guessing).
I'm not making any final decisions yet but I can't see a compelling reason to swap the X. I would if I needed the storage and liked it when I use it... but I don't need more storage, and I still don't like the design all that much.

The only thing I can see that I'd have preferred is if the screen blended into the bezel of the phone like on the S2.
I'm now considering a 12 month contract on Vodafone for the 16GB version and buying a 64GB microSD card for my music. They are charging £90 extra for 16GB more storage... Did they get that pricing model from Apple?
The front of the gs3 looks ok but the back in blue looks like a squashed dolphin.

I think its more accurate to say they think its a tie because the two come so close in actual everyday performance that it comes down to personal preference, in which looks are a big factor.
They make the valid comment the majority of users will never need more than 32GB of storage. Sense vs TouchWiz is completely personal. Many of the addons offered by TouchWiz aren't incredibly useful.
Overall, for the majority of consumers, looks and marketing sell phones, not benchmarks or synthetic performance. The Samsung name will carry them a long way with this one I'm sure.
Just got to wait for t-mobile pricing now as this will be my upgrade and 12 month extension to my current contract. Im hoping for around the 200 mark up front, but will have to see. It's a big enough jump up from my atrix, I wish the camera was better at low light, as how many of us take pictures in pubs/clubs but Im sure I will learn to like it.
For 12 months, looks don't bother me too much, if it was a 24 month extension, I would think again.

If the back wasnt so goddawful ugly, made from cheap looking plastic and the only viable option being white, Id agree with you.
(I actually like the curves though!)

Is there anyone on here that is familiar with flashing ROMs/Kernels onto a phone? I'm trying to do this for my LG Ally (I know this isn't the right thread, I just figure this is a more active thread than an LG Ally thread).
If anyone can provide me detailed instructions (as this would be my first attempt) it would be amazing! If not, that's cool too...
I mainly want to overclock the CPU a bit, any other extras would be icing on the top.

Why does it matter what the back looks like anyway? I never see it as I always put my phone down face up and I look at the screen not the back cover when using it

I dont think anyone was/is outraged, just disappointment that they didnt seemingly learn - given the hype and mention of design.

That photo doesn't do it any favours, the promo pic looks far better than that
