Yes Vodafone. All I did was put my details on the pre register page about 3 weeks ago. Got a call and the woman gave me the run down.
 
I was lucky enough to spend 5 minutes of supervised time playing with a test/review sgs 3 unit. The GPS lock time kind of blew me away.. it's a bit mental how quick it locks on compared to the SGS II. You see the little micro stutters the SGS 2 has from time to time? Those are gone. Surprisingly the unit felt nice in the hand, didn't have any issues with the placement of the capacitive keys but then I might be used to the layout. Didn't get to test any of the communications capability so can't say about the call quality but the speaker is louder than the SGS II... louder.
 
That's good to hear :D I'm more than excited now, quite sad really but this will be the phone that I've been waiting for ever since getting the HTC Desire and some may recall me saying that all I want is an AMOLED screen with 720P resolution and a speclist that is rather epic!
 
I second that! I haven't been this excited for a phone since the P900 :D

On the scary side, this will be the first non-sony smartphone I'll have bought in the last 10 years since I had my P800. I think I went P800, P900, P910, P990, W960, X1, X10... now a Samsung of all things! :eek:
 
Yeah before the S2 I'd never even consider a Samsung phone because of that stigma that followed their name :p

Damn right, I hope it's as epic as my expectations have led me to believe! Mind you, being Android I'll just end up with exactly the same set-up I have with my X10 only it'll run 100x smoother/quicker :p
 
I doubt I'll bother with the S4 or whatever Samsung offer this time next year. I think the S3 with 64GB card will carry me forwards for quite a few years.

That is of course unless there's something absolutely revolutionary Samsung put into the S4/S5!

My plan now is to hold out until Fall 2013 and see what's coming in the new year. I imagine by then though we will have seen those bendy AMOLED screened Samsung phones they've been teasing lately.


That kind of revolutionary would do me fine :)
 
Im intending to make this my first smartphone when it comes out, just wondering what plans people have for getting theres with unlimited internet, simonly or contract? Where i live the only way to get internet is through a mobile dongle. so for me unlimited data is a must. Also will i be able to tether it to my lapto so that i can cut down on one bill?

See i kinda wanna get this, latest vids i have seen of the blue one looked a lot better than the pictures they have had floating about, a lot darker at least.

Problem is i am kind of distracted by the 'mint' handset coming out by sony later in the year, sony designs are nearly always nice and sounds like it will be a proper beast of a phone spec wise..

I said exactly the same 6 months ago when I bought the Note, yet here I am watching long hd reviews on YT, working out ridiculously cheap purchase and use schemes, really all I have left to do is justify it somehow, preferably in a way that involves keeping the Note for some reason.
 
^ Hehe, this is a relatively minor bump from the SGS2 too. A highly clocked Exynos 5 Quad with Midgard GPU is faster than a 2007 Desktop Core 2 Duo and GeForce 8600 GT combo... I think Robbie's going to want it :cool: (running Windows 8 or Android?)

Yeah me too - if the design was better I'd be a lot more interested. The main thing missing from the SII for me (like mrk) is a 720p SAMOLED. If it had that I wouldn't really be tempted by the SIII, as the SII is that good.

Design/asthetics wise the SIII is a 5/10, SII 7.5/10, GNex 9/10...imo.
 
I'm trying to choose between the S3 and HTC One X, and the fact the S3 has that plasticy blue case is almost becoming a deal breaker for me. Might be a less of one if they just did a normal black version...
