I added an edit to my post as I was reading through the thread, I'm gonna root, update the German fw and stay stock tw, at least for a month or two.

Sounds good - and maybe use Ti-Backup to freeze the bloat apps.

Yup one or the other, though ti backup is the most likely route I'll go, disappointed with Samsung and the UK networks.

I'm having the same feelings with my Dad's HTC One which is stuck on ancient firmware. No updates since May.
Only if that was as easy to update as Samsung devices!.
HTC suck for making this difficult.

A friend of mine has an S4 on tesco mobile and he's still stuck on MDM. It's a bit poor when I received the ME2 update on tomobile back on the 20th of May. Samsung and the networks need to pull their socks up and at least make sure everybody has access to MEA+
Hi just picked one of these up last week. Came from an Galaxy S1 which I had for around 3 years!!!! Wow is an understatement 
Have got a nice leather flip case and screen protector to hopefully protect the phone.
Whats this about updates to MDM? Just checked mine in baseband and mine does end in MDM. Does the newer versions make the phone quicker and the like?

no it just flashes over the top and all your stuff and settings remain.
I didn't get time to update yesterday. The downloads are slow as hell!
Stock rom is slow to DL, ghey server. Prerooted stock downloads at ~1.5MB/s (under half hr)

I dont know what he's playing at, forcing people to use an infested installer just to get to the ROM. Very poor show :/
I think I'll jump ship, I can't be bothered with it. I was getting fed up with the lack of consistency anyway. I mean, how many times is he going to spell 'download' wrong on the website? It might seem like a small thing but if he can't get that right then it gives me no confidence in his rom. it seems a lot of people are having various different problems with the later releases anyway.
