I don't see why they shouldn't as the new variants are the same size.

Think we'll see these faux leather backs available on eBay as soon as these devices are released.
 
What's the best prog to use in order to backup an S4 chaps? My Mrs cracked her screen, ordered a replacement but needs to back it up before she exchanges with the delivery guy tomorrow morning!
 
Anyone care to recommend me a good 4.4.2 G.E rom. I'm currently on a pre nox Wanam 4.2.2 build (also used a good 4.3 G.E rom). I'm also a bit concerned about modems for a 4.4.2 G.E rom. Do I have to change anything regarding flashing a different modem or simply like before a full wipe and install a G.E rom (one with no sign of Knox obviously) any help appreciated.

You say no sign of Knox, but by installing the new baseband you already have knox, and most likely trigger this when you install a custom rom/root? (even if that rom doesnt have Knox..).. My phone certainly did trigger Knox, even though Echoe v14.1 does not come with Knox, but know being installed as part of the baseband was enough to trigger..
 
He's on a pre knox build so unless he does something mental and updates to a knox bootloader his phone will never have knox to be tripped.

OK, so was I, but I upgraded the bootloader anyway to avoid any errors caused by mismatching versions.. I know there are workaround at the moment, but I believe wifi was a pain to get working on the old bootloader.. I think you will be forced to upgrade the bootloader sooner or later if you want to keep using the new roms. I might be wrong ofcourse. :)
 
I am on a older bootloader. I tried one G.E 4.4.2 rom but it failed. I suspect it was the cwm version I was using. To be honest now I'd rather just odin an official G.E S4 rom and be done with Flashing roms now. Is there such a thing as I've been out of the loop for a good while and am a bit uncertain how to continue.
 
Mine is still pre-knox but i've had all sorts of roms installed on mine, including 4.4 GE and CM11 based roms. All fine, wifi-wise, as long as i had the right modems installed.

On the subject of roms, wellibob, Echoes v2.2 is brilliant http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2555569
4.4.2 GE with gravitybox and viper4audio built in. I ran it for a month solid (which is quite a long time for me :p) and 0 reboots, decent battery life and very smooth. Well recommended.

Also consider ASOB, which used to be called ProBAM. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2377129
Now CM11/Android 4.4.2 based, long number of extras thrown in, even multi window, supports art as it doesnt use xposed/gravitybox for most of its customisations like Echoes does. Im currently using it now and it seems every bit as good as echoes but more customisable. The AOSB Lockscreen is also brilliant:cool:

the two roms are the best i have seen on the s4 in terms of both stability and speed.

James can I ask what modem you used, flashed echo rom and is fine except phone signal/data (basically very low signal or no signal "modem related i know"). Any help appreciated

Edit : update MJ modem did the trick. All sorted thanks.

I only got mine yesterday and it's got this KNOX thing on. Does that give me some headaches with regards to flashing?
 
Not so much a headache, it won't stop you but if you flash it then it will effectively trip the tamper switch which can never be reset, its nothing like the old thing you could sort out with triangle away, this is an efuse which can't be reset.
