*** The Official Samsung Galaxy S5 Thread ***

Why would it not work? :p If a 2TB card existed then that would also work :D

Just for the purposes of clarity for the original questioner, older phones I think topped out at 64gb (although that was based on SDHC which I read only goes up to 32gb?), now the S5 and various other phones are shipping with SDXC compatibility that has now upped that limit to a theoretical 2TB.

So basically don't stick a 128gb micro SD card in your S3 and expect it to work but really anything for the next few years at least wil work in an S5.

And I need to get me a 128gb card lol! Oh the days when I could call in favours from SanDisk!

Some reviews:

Not read them yet but I still think the S5 is a great phone and a lot of people will be tempted when they try it!

Reviews seem to be quite favourable.

Now that we've all got past the lack of outstanding feature or new stuff on the current phones, we're finding that they're (the S5 and the M8) are genuinely good, very well rounded phones. Seems that they both build well upon the previous ones in pretty much all areas, even if it's not a breakthrough in any single area.

Small changes overall, which add up to make a much better phone.

I could be wrong, but the S3 should support the 128 GB card just fine. As long as the phone supports the SDXD then they'll all work, and a lot of recent phone do support it.

The only reason phones like the S3 were listed as "up to 64 GB" was simply that that size was the largest available at the time of printing the specifications.

Here's a list (which I can only assume is correct!) of phones which support the SDXC standard:

I was surprised when I used it, I even like the back! :p

It's tough to choose between the S5 and M8, though I'd say the S5 edges it on paper. TouchWiz looks really good now as well. Nobody should buy either of them without trying both.

Still, back to the iPhone for me!

blimey, well I have been confused with this standard myself so I'll be quiet!

just got to get the price down, we're still in the premium phase where a 128gb card is over twice the price of a 64gb, I get why but that needs to calm before I get in.

Impressive platform power improvemnts.

What's the story with Knox?

I'm still using my S3 so haven't had to deal with it. I'm a bit of a rom addict, will Knox ruin my day?

Hmm ok. I'm considering the S5 but I'd want to get rid of the bloatware.

Is it the same thing with HTC? With s-off etc?

If people are saying both this and m8 are great could go for either etc... Then why wouldn't you go for the better speakers and materials on the m8? Unless this phone under cuts the m8 you are just buying an uglier phone for no reason? :/

Camera, water resistance.

Each one has their good and bad points.

You get the slight variations such as the bigger screen on the s5 and the fact that many users have better speakers available, I bought a kitsound hive BT speaker after mrk did a mini review last year so the m7/8 speakers are just a waste of screen to me, then you get the whole beauty is in the eye of the beholder thing.
