*** The Official Samsung Galaxy S6/Edge Thread ***

All of which, bar maybe premium design, applied to every Galaxy S iteration before it, so is it really worth the increase just for the premium design elements? It's not just the cost in isolation, it's the relative cost compared to previous models that confuses me a bit, to the point it just seems a bit like price gouging for the sake of it.

When you consider the Galaxy S4/S5 16GB was as much as £575 on launch I don't consider the Galaxy S6 pricing bad in comparison.

They've all been expensive to be fair.

Doesn't really matter so long as they send one. Use a credit card or something to cover yourself just in case and go to Samsung if you have any problems with the phone :)

I got my S4 on release day from the high street and paid absolutely nowhere near the sort of money for it that I would have had to pay to upgrade to the S6 now. I would have had to pay double the up front cost and an extra £10 per month on a 2 year contract to get an S6 over my S4 contract.

Currently owning an S4 whose contract will run out within a few weeks, I was very disappointed by the lack of a microSD slot in the S6. It wouldn't have been so bad if the phone was priced appropriate for something that lacked storage expansion. But the price difference between the 32GB and 64GB is quite a lot, considering one can probably buy multiple 32GB microSDs for the difference. It gets worse with the 128GB version, which costs a lot more. But the biggest most confusing thing? Samsung themselves make microSD cards. The 128GB Evo one sold by Samsung themselves (no link since OCUK doesn't sell it) is ~£65. Surely they would want microSD expansion so that they can sell their own cards? Enough of a rant on microSD (LG G4 seems like it will beat the S6 on both microSD and price :s).

A question for anyone who owns an S6, what is the battery life like on these phones? Watching video or listening to music especially? I listen to music/stream via Soundcloud on long 2+ hour drives.

On WiFi I can't fault it, getting 5-6 hours screen on time. I get about 4 off WiFi, but my signal at work is poor. Once you tweak it and take off the bloat ware, googles rubbish etc. It's more then fine considering the screen etc.

Still no Blue 64GB S6 anywhere :(

One site said they hope to have it this week, but I don't have much hope, will keep checking am.de to see if they get them in at all.

So are contract prices on this going to calm down or it's pretty much what they'll be now for the foreseeable future? Does seem a lot pricier than previous releases, for once I can actually get an iPhone cheaper than Android.

Who can say! Price are indeed nuts though. Three want over £50 per month over 2 years for a 64gb S6 with unlimited data...
Gone are the days of getting a latest flagship for £30 it seems!!

Only semi decent deal I can find is on EE for unlimited contract with 4GB for £33.49 and £89.99 upfront, just waiting to see what LG G4 brings to the table before I commit as I'm hardly desperate for an upgrade with Note 3 at the moment.
