Gone are the days of getting a latest flagship for £30 it seems!!

The last flagship I got for £30p/m (12mth contract) was a Sony Ericsson S700i back in 2004. Considering how much phones have moved on and how much I use my phone I'm happy with the extortionate price I paid.

I paid £24 a month for the S4 on T-Mobile (and 6 months later the same on EE).

Now paying £34 for the S6 on EE, at least I get 10gb data now which is good these days, but T-Mobile was unlimited (kind of).

Loving my non edge. Only real concern I have is just how slippery it is.

I don't want to case it as I've got a leather sleeve and on its way.

So just need something to give it a bit of a grip or its inevitable that it will slip!

Maybe a skin for the back of the phone, a few US sites some decent custom work but I can't find anything for the UK atm.

Will keep looking as I'm also finding it very slippery but don't want a case.

Who can say! Price are indeed nuts though. Three want over £50 per month over 2 years for a 64gb S6 with unlimited data...

The price of contracts is ridiculous now. Two years ago I got the s4, just after release for £26 a month + £60 upfront (£684 for 24 months) for 500min with unlimited txts and data with 3.

The equivalent s6 now is £48 a month +£49 upfront cost (£1201 for 24 months).

I feel ya. I got my S4 2 years ago for £27pm+£99 upfront for 500 mins, unlimited texts and unlimited :D data on T-Mobile. Best contract I've ever had and I'm very sad to see no equivalent for 2015 flagships. I was going to give the S6 a chance, but I had a look at the prices and even the cheapest 32GB one is damn pricey. And I'd go for 64GB at least. Wouldn't be a problem if... no I can't mention the letters S and D anymore. It's too painful.

The pricing on the S6 is the dealbreaker. Now I'm waiting for the LG G4 rumoured to be much cheaper, in the hopes that I can get a similar 'miracle' contract.

I'm dreading my upgrade as I was looking at these. I had some total retard at my last renewal who spouted loads of crap deals and then offered an LG G2 16GB just after release for free, unlimited texts, mins, 5GB data (Orange this is) for... £17.99. Of course I snapped their hands off. No way am I gonna match it this time around lol.

The S6 32GB is costing me 69E up front and 32E/month for 24 months.

The S6 Edge 64GB is costing me 330E up front and the company 89E/month for 24 months.

It would have been the same up front cost with the 49E/month contract, however the company is paying not me... ho ho ho and the more expensive contract offers unlimited roaming through Europe, USA & Canada and includes 20GB data on the primary sim + a secondary data-only sim with another 20GB data... to be used at home and while roaming.

So S6 32GB for 929E = £600 (inc vat)

And S6E 64GB could have been = £1075 with my main provider on a decent plan.

The provider I got the S6 from were also doing the S6E 32GB for £670

That £600 plan actually includes 3GB 3G data + 20GB 4G data + unlimited calls & sms within europe & calls from France to the USA + free to landlines in 120+ countries... so it's a pretty darn good deal compared to what I've been seeing in the UK.

I was considering a UK plan... but the prices are extortionate compared to what I can get in France and much more limited in their roaming and international calls.

Doing the maths with current exchange rates and 20% VAT, that first 32GB plan works out as ~£735 total. That's still miles better than what we get. I'm jelly of the great deals you guys get across the channel. Now I'm just wondering why on Earth are they trying to rob us more, here in old Blighty? If they really are overcharging us, I shudder at the thought of what extortion UK companies will try and pull with the G4. At this rate, we might as well move to France XD

Found two of my main annoyances with the S6

Ringtone and notifications volume is not linked - So when I turn down the volume, I have also have to dig down into the menu to reduce the notification volume too

Auto-connecting to open wifi networks - I've Wi-Fi at work and home but when I'm outside it connects to any open network making me lose data connection.
