*** The Official Samsung Galaxy S6/Edge Thread ***

got a software update on my sim free s6 edge 64gb, was on 5.0.2 and still is, the update did mention performance/ stability update / better fingerprint recognition

Android Version
5.0.2

Version
G925FXXU1AOE3

its not fixed the ram issue, apps still reload, which does irritate me as i do use some apps that i wanna go back to at a certain point , still get redraw issue when looking at the edge clock and flicking it over then going back into home screen, also with flipboard on then scrolling back to homescreen the whole screen like flickers

Just checked mine and have a update 150 Meg same as yours. I ditched touchwiz straight away so can't comment on some things.

That's just TouchWiz being rubbish. Ditching it for the Nova or Google Play launcher improves the phone fairly dramatically.

hi, yeah i know that, but why does that need to be the case, for such a high end high spec , expensive device should just work , there are cheaper devices out there which run smoother,

at the presentation was told lag stutter free which it aint, i love the device its got some amazing spec and features, but this always gets me

Agreed, there is no reason to use the Touchwiz launcher when there is so much choice. The Touchwiz launcher has poor performance and no features, not even basic app sorting.

Samsung should license Nova Launcher and deploy it as a replacement for TouchWiz (probably after hiding away some of the more advanced features). It's sufficiently customisable that they could adapt it to whichever brand identity they wanted.

just tried Nova, the bbc news widget just comes up as 1 column with touchwiz it had 2 columns of news ,

is there anyway to use the same weather time as the touchwiz one ? also guess flipboard doesnt work i mean the proper one

Thanks

Widgets are adjustable in nova, expand the grid size. It's will take time to learn all the features. It's the most downloaded launcher for a reason.

I paid £2.50 for it. There's that much customisation it's difficult to make a fantastic layout.

It becomes second nature after you've used it as long as I have. Stick with it, just takes time.

Maybe watch a few youtube guides on Nova. One of my fav features is overlappable widgets and icons.

Tried Nova and Apex but like KK launcher out of them all. Gives you the stock Android look when you press on the screen to get widgets/wallpapers. If the others have it I missed it.

cant find the expend grid, other then keeping held the widget to expand size but it still doesnt give the 2 columns

Unfortunately Samsung widgets don't work on anything but Touchwiz. Not sure what you mean about Flipboard, I don't use it.

Go into the Nova settings > Desktop > Desktop grid

I've been using Nova for years. The new Nova Beta material version is the best looking yet
