*** The Official Samsung Galaxy S6/Edge Thread ***

Moving over from my rooted S4 I was using the following apps requiring root -
Titanium Backup
Cerberus
Greenify
Betterbatterystats

I may be able to live without them but being used to having them it would be nice to keep them, I tripped knox on my S4 but still had warranty work done without any issues but ideally I'd like to avoid tripping it to start with on this phone.

I have that case its really nice but be warned it doesn't protect the camera. I put a tempered glass protector on the back of the phone and put the case on and it now protects it when its flat on a surface.
Case arrived this morning. Gotta say, it's a beaut - probably my favourite of the 5 or so cases that I have. This one shows off the phone really nicely. It has more grip than I'd thought too. Only downside is that it might not protect the camera. It's flush, but can't tell whether the lens just pokes out slightly or not. Anyway, for £7.50 for an official case, I'm chuffed.

I've a bit of a strange one.

Running Marshmallow on my S6 and this afternoon I took my phone of the wireless charger plate and it was off. Turned it back on and again went off. Has been fine since. Wondering is it marshmallow/hardware/app? Anyone had anything similar?

Marshmallow is in Beta, so I wouldn't expect everything to work correctly. Have you reported it as a bug in the beta? Did it work in lollipop?

Tried to report it but the the app tell's me the beta is closed. Following the update there's no mention of beta on my phone on the lock screen like there was. If I am reading it right I think they essentially moved beta users onto a newer version of marshmallow that we now just keep.

The beta is closed so no reports can be sent in. They have left users to use the beta or you can downgrade back to lollipop If they so wish.

I am using the beta and its the smoothest I have ever seen a S6.

Yes, with the hands free functionality in my car. I can connect and make direct dial calls, but for whatever reason it will not read my phone book at all except for recent calls in/out.

It's very strange, and makes me wonder if it's not 100% compliant with the spec.

Not sure if it's relevant to yours, but I found out that my current stereo has AVRCP (Audio/Video Remote Control Profile) Ver.1.3 but my phone is 1.4! I would had thought it would be backwards compatible but I guess not...

I'm surprised at how laggy this phone is on chrome - anyone find this?

It's smoother with the Samung browser.

Yeah, that's been the case with my last few samsung phones. I think the stock browser is GPU optimised or something. I stick with chrome just for the desktop syncing.

If you go into the hidden menu on chrome you can turn on GPU acceleration, not sure if that'll help but worth a go
