**** The Official Samsung Galaxy S7/Edge Thread ****

I wonder if it has anything to do with not taking up the Vodafone Red/Red Value contract? I'm just on a 'normal' tariff as far as I can see, whereas the Red T&C's state that S7 orders placed before 6th March will get their handsets by 8th March.

Didn't see that! My upgrade is a Red Value plan, so should be all good!

My Samsung order has changed!

The free pen has gone off freebie list and been swapped with GearVR which is showing as “in stock” – Looks like things are hotting up and I expect we will see dispatch updates this weekend.

Mines showing the same :)

is the phone actually going to be with everyone on the 8th who ordered direct through Samsung 5 days ago ? As i plan to be at home that day. Anyone know ?

ha, well 8-6 then...

So not sure how they will "process" over the weekend!

To be honest although that may be their standard days/hours, I'd be willing to wager that they work over time during the weekend of a big launch, regardless of whether they get them out the door at the weekend I'm sure they'll be busy.

Don't hold your breath for a Tuesday delivery from Samsung, got this email from them after contacting them.

Thank you for contacting the Samsung Online Shop.
We will start shipping on the 8th of March, so please expect more information then, it should be displayed on our website or in the corresponding e-mails. We will deliver from the 8 of March until all pre-orders are delivered. Hopefully all of them will be delivered before the official release date, as intended.
Due to the large demand and quantity of orders, we cannot provide a definite date for now. We apologize for that. Once the shipping starts on the 7th-8th of March, you will receive an e-mail when your order is dispatched, this e-mail will contain the tracking for your parcel, use it to track with greater detail the delivery process and status of the order.
The delivery is the Express delivery option and the courier is Parcel Force, so the once dispatched your parcel should arrive on the next working day.
Hopefully we will dispatch as soon as possible and delivery will be swift.
If you require any further information on this matter, please do not hesitate to contact us.
Regards,
Teodor

Although I'm not gonna stress if it doesn't come on the 8th, I'd be tempted to reply to that email suggesting they update their website.

Nobody knows for sure, but see above. Don't bank on it, then again they could just be managing expectations in case they get any issues.

Nope, I get perfect 1:1 mirror cast of everything from my S6 in portrait and landscape (games, videos, text messages, emails, desktop, menus) to my TV with Chromecast. Chromecast is awesome!

So you can plug in your Chromecast into the HDMI port on any basic TV, not have any wifi anywhere, and just turn on the Chromecast mirror on your S6 and there it is on the TV? If that's true then it should be fine. How exactly does it send the information from the phone to the Chromecast?

This is for the Note 5 from the Samsung site which apparently officially didn't have MHL support either... so I'm still hopeful as pluging an adapter such as this is very simple.

Sorry for misleading you, but no, it does need a wi-fi connection. But with the wi-fi connection, it mirrors perfectly.

I ordered three days ago directly from Samsung and my order still says 'Not Processed'. I contacted them and they said:

"Thank you for contacting Samsung.
You do not need to worry, your order will be processed before we start to ship orders to the courier on the 7th of March, to be prepared for delivery on the 8th of March.
We remain at your disposal.

Tsvetan

Part of me thinks that 'delivery on the 8th of March' means they will be delivered on 8th March, cynical part of me thinks 'start to ship orders' implies they'll begin to send them to courier but as there's so many the process of shipping orders to courier will not just be on the 7th...

I think I read earlier in the thread that Parcelforce are delivering phones ordered off the Samsung site... does anyone know if they do the same hour delivery slot notification that DPD do?

EZcast doesn't and is why I mentioned it a day or so ago. You directly connect it to your phone using Wifi. No need to go through the a router. The adapter creates it's own router type thing.

You just plug it into a HDMI port and connect it to the TV's USB port or connect a USB android charger. The adapter becomes a router of sorts and you can stream your screen or content easily and smoothly.
