**** The Official Samsung Galaxy S8/S8+ Thread ****

Ok I have a weird problem, when I connect my S8+ to the router at my in laws, every device on wifi including the S8+ can no longer connect to the internet, I get connection time outs for all devices. As soon as I turn off wifi on the S8+ all other devices can once again connect and use the internet via wifi. I have rebooted router, rebooted phone and forgotten the wifi and reconnected it, same issue. The router is a BT home hub 4, I have no clue why this is happening ><
I have no issue at home on a EE broadband router.

Replaceable battles had 12 month warranties. I assume non replaceable batteries are warranted for the full 24 months like the rest of the phone is ?

Down to 50% capacity after 6 months is not wear and tear ...

I've had no problems with my S8 battery. According to Accubattery capacity is at 101%. Had to go back to carphone for speaker repair and repair report said they changed the battery. It was at 101% before the repair. Occasionally use the fast charger but mostly charged overnight on a none fast wirelessly. Battery life very good and no complaints from me.

Those of you who are having battery issues, are you regularly using fast charging? The same thing happened to my S7 battery and I think it was the fast charging that killed it.

Anyone running Pixel Launcher with their S8/S8+ ?? I'm tempted by the Pixel but put off a little by the design (this is where Samsung killed it for me). Does it run smooth?

thanks

Don’t have my S8 any longer (on an iPhone 8 now, boo I know) but when I used Pixel Launcher it was smooth and worked fine for me.

Nova is one of the other options you can use and I would recommend it to be honest. Reason being you can integrate Google Now with the swipe right.

I believe this is a myth and has been widely debunked. What does have a very real impact on battery life is heat and the excess heat generated from fast charging could be having an affect but fast charging itself does not appear to damage/weaken the life of a battery.

A Google talk recently outlined Project Treble, and how Google were working with some OEMs to make existing flagships compatible with it. In turn, this also means devices made compatible with Treble, also means they are capable of running a stock Android image.

We already know Google have been working with Samsung on some things from other reports, so if Treble is one of the points they have been working on, then this means we could run stock Android without going through a custom ROM root. It's a longshot, but I know many folks want a stock Android OS on Samsung hardware...

The details are here: https://www.xda-developers.com/project-treble-android-o-exist-flagship/

It's coming!

Probably next year according to the tech press.

Always seems to me there is a lot of excitement about an OS upgrade then left with a feeling 'meh' or worse when it arrives. Never had better battery life and has often introduced new issues. But curiosity will get the better of me when it is released and I'll go and accept the upgrade

Oh yeah of course it is. I couldn't see it earlier but that's all stretched and low res. Can't see the frame around the edge, no ribbon cable connected to the finger print sensor etc. Don't know now no couldn't see that before, I Just assumed that was JerryRigEverything's S8
