**** The Official Samsung Galaxy S8/S8+ Thread ****

mid april apparently with the announcement next week/2 weeks

I wonder how this will work with google assistant considering they will have their own assistant??

hardware wise, there is not much of a difference between s7 and s8 :p

ya I think they have already forgotten the note 7 cockup, I haven't heard a word on them trying to get those note 7 customers back, I didn't even get the opportunity to receive my note 7, and now I have to pay a premium to get their next potential cockup... silly

How is £50 a month acceptable for you guys? :( I got my S6 2 years ago not long after launch for £28.80 on a Unl Calls/texts with 8gb data 24 month contract. Vodafone says my upgrade is ready in 2 days and there aint no way in hell I'd accept paying £50+ p/m for an upgraded phone near launch.

when you have been tolerating a z3 with a cracked screen and rear panel, where the memory card keeps popping out... your throat widens so you can swollow the giant **** Samsung wants to put in it.

I will be speaking with EE retentions, and I'm hoping to get around 38, that's what I was offered with the note 7

Is that a savage loyal customer deal? I just don't get how some people manage to get such good deals.

I said I wanted to leave and he offered me that, I already have 20% discount on my account, I wanted cheaper even it had meant less data, but he couldn't... even if you think that is good - 46 is still a high number... and then the note 8 will come out with its under screen fps, 1000fps camera and I'll be paying silly amounts for my older phone

I just tried EE and got offered an S8+ 24 months @ 65..... I've been an EE / Orange customer for 10 years so laughed my way outside.
phone up retentions, ask for pac code, they will offer you a crap deal, ask for pac code again, they will give you it - 2 days later will call you back with a better deal.

They didn't really, the actually implemented their own version well it's just a shame the Windows Phone platform was pretty much dead at that point.

It's a shame it's not like the asus padfone (they did this first) but I do really like the look of the desktop environment, although there was no mention on how the apps will fair, only that there's a handfull of compliant games....

What colour is everyone going for? I'm liking the Orchid Grey.

Black... like my heart.

This is very true. There are fewer and fewer real differences between smart phone generations now. They have reached a plateau. The price just keeps going up for the top end ones though.

So the new ones will run angry birds at 300fps rather than 250fps. Who the hell cares?

The s8 is a lovely looking phone, and i would like one. But does it actually do anything my s6 doesn't? Can i justify 700 quid? I'll wait thanks.

dex, gear vr, iris scanner, 10nm processor.

I have a feeling phones will start exploring desktop replacements more commonly in the next few iterations, so long as developers optimise their apps for variable resolutions, it will be more common

6 months I can wait. I guess for me however is how much I would miss the stylus if I jumped ship.

Does the stylus double up as a bluetooth handset?
