I didnt realize they have the ability to re-locate to a different site (at random I guess) by making the legs flex and basically bouncing around like Zebedee...

However that will use power which they dont have much of and run the risk of landing in an even worse site; but it's a difficult decision to make if the lander starts to die through lack of solar charge...

First comet panoramic:

PPWXSoP.jpg

Rosetta’s lander Philae has returned the first panoramic image from the surface of a comet. The view, unprocessed, as it has been captured by the CIVA-P imaging system, shows a 360º view around the point of final touchdown. The three feet of Philae’s landing gear can be seen in some of the frames.

Replay of today's briefing:

^ Yeh, you can clearly see it's sort of sideways, with one image pointing up into space, rather than at the comet.

I wonder if they will try and move it! Scary! Could just roll over and end up upside down!

apparently its an alien spaceship now that has changed direction regularly

the only flaw in this theory being if it kept changing direction how would we know where to intercept it after 10 years?!
