From the SpaceX Twitter:

Rocket made it to drone spaceport ship, but landed hard. Close, but no cigar this time. Bodes well for the future tho.

Ship itself is fine. Some of the support equipment on the deck will need to be replaced...

Didn't get good landing/impact video. Pitch dark and foggy. Will piece it together from telemetry and ... actual pieces.

Landing hard is still pretty impressive, especially if it didn't land so hard that it sank the pad.

A little more info. The x-fins, ran out of hydraulic oil just before touch down. Next flight will carry 50% mire hydraulic fluids. Although why it's leaking in the first place

Musk tweeted the grid fins added to the rocket launched Saturday “worked extremely well from hypersonic velocity to subsonic, but ran out of hydraulic fluid right before landing.”

An upcoming flight will carry 50 percent more hydraulic fluid, Musk said. The mission “should have plenty of margin for landing attempt next month.”

It's using an open system to keep weight down, apparently had 10% too little fluid so by adding 50% they will be fine for the next one.

s well as the ammonia leak probably worse, is ted Cruz is going to be in charge of nasa budget.

Ted Cruz has voted to reduce NASA funding, denies climate change and opposes net neutrality

How do such people get into power. It was like the head of Australian medicine or health (can't remember exact organisation) who believed and wanted to do homeopathy.
