Thanks shaffaaf, ordering as soon as poss, too bad its 350, 300 really was my limit :( I'll just downgrade some of the stuff or get sales for pretty much the same level.

Edit: Actually I'm just going to go for the £300 Tower one, just a switch from Intel to AMD, and its actually £300 exactly, so thanks again :)

Looking to convert my current PC to a SFF for ease of traveling, was thinking of upgrading to a 4850 because of its single slot cooling but happy with my 8800GTS for the time being.

Just checking to see if my current thinking is wise and advice on a PSU, I do currently have a OCZ 850w but want a modular one to try and save space in an already small enclosure.

Thanks in advance.

Thanks for the help shaffaaf27. Is there anywhere I could make a cut back in cost without effecting performance to much, the motherboard or PSU for example?

Also how do people usually run multiple hard drive systems? Would you have windows and program installs on one drive with the other drive for storage or just have one drive for windows and the other for everything else.

Hi kushy28 and welcome to the forums. First of all, make sure you read the FAQ so you don't get into trouble for doing something you wasn't aware off. :p

Moving onto your specification. I would personally make a few changes since some of the components you have chosen are slightly unnecessary. For example, the Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 guaranteed to run at 3.3GHz. All you are basically paying the extra for is to return the chip if the one that you get won't be able to reach 3.3GHz which is highly unlikely. The majority of them if not all, will be able to reach a clock speed of around 3.4GHz pretty easily.

The Nvidia Geforce GTX 260 is a fine graphics card and I'm sure you won't be disappointed with it. Though, for the exact same price, you could get this one here which is actually slightly better than the EVGA card as you can see here.

The ASUS P5Q Deluxe is a fine motherboard and you honestly cant go wrong if you do get one. Though, if you wanted to save a bit of money and you don't necessary need the extras that the Deluxe has, you could opt for the Asus P5Q Pro which is again, a fantastic motherboard.

The memory that you have chosen is extremely expensive and really quite unnecessary. If you are looking at getting some PC2-8500 rated memory then you could save a bit of money and go for this memory kit here which will be absolutely fine. The only real reason to go for PC2-8500 rated memory is if you are looking at overclocking the Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 past the 3.6GHz mark. If you are not, then PC2-6400 rated memory such as this kit here will be more than sufficient.

I also see that you are going for 8GB of RAM which will only be worth while if you will be using a 64-bit operating system. Also, depending on what you will use your system for, 8GB may be a lot more than you actually need and 4GB would be fine.

Since you have chosen the Thermalright TRUE Black 120 CPU Cooler, which is a fantastic air cooler, you will also need to purchase a fan separately since it doesn't come with one. A fan that is highly regarded is the Noctua NF-P12 which will be perfect. :)
