***The Official Starfield Thread*** (As endorsed by TNA)

All looked good, until he mentioned the scale right at the end... However, 1,000 planets, fully explorable? I feel this is a huge exaggeration/issue, no way is every one of those going to be vivid enough with life and what have you to make this a enjoyable RPG, more of a base building survival game. Which is not what I wanted.

I'm a bit disappointed.

After watching the demo so far, in my view, it looks like NMS on rails.

It could just have been a bad demo. I'd imagine story will play a big role in the game yet we didn't get to see much of it.

After watching the show last night my hype has died for this, it looks like they've tried to mesh Mass Effect with Star Citizen and the demo looked so poorly optimized.

Same, though I thought it had more of a 'No mans Sky' vibe mixed with 'The Outer Worlds'

1000 planets sounds crap to be honest, I don't want a game with loads of busy work.

I'm less excited after the vid than I was before.

Was it just me or was it running like a slug in a salt mine? I'm expecting horrific system requirements...

I quite like the idea of spaceship dogfights, but control is always a bit faff, so will be interested to see how that works in game.

Knowing the usual Bethesday showelware approach to landscapes, I think they should have gone for a sub-light speed sci-fi game. One solar system would have been enough and I'd be far more inclined they could carry that off without making lots of copy&pasted empty worlds where nothing happens.

Yeah. 100 Would have been plenty and meant better crafted planets. I hope it’s a case of most the planets is just for mining or whatever.

Will wait for reviews.

We are going to get about half a dozen well fleshed out planets, may another 20 or so which have decent amount to do IMO. Rest will just be mining for sure or random exploration. Makes sense really if they are trying to capture space feel, most planets will be barren I expect. Will just be a matter of not visiting them if your not bothered IMO. Likely few may have special loot or something I suppose which guides will tease out after a while is my suspicions.

I have flashbacks of driving a Mako around for hours in Mass Effect on almost barren planets with a few collectables.

Yea, I hope so. Still, 1000 seems a lot. I wonder how many systems there will be?

I have to say. In Mass Effect I did wish there was more to explore. But we are talking about double or treble what was there. Not 1000.

We will see soon I guess. Unless it is utter crap I will likely play it at some point. Still excited for it more than most other games coming out.
