***The Official Starfield Thread*** (As endorsed by TNA)

A shame, this was likely going to be my Xmas game, defo my most awaited game this year, still better to polish it (well at least less bugs as it will have some). Hopefully the Harry Potter game is still on track :D
 
Another potential rival to Elden Ring sweeping the game of the year awards falls by the wayside. Cant be too many potential rivals to be Elden Ring this year now
 
Personally find Elden Ring so so, appreciate though why its a masterpiece and will win the awards. But for actual enjoyment, reckon this would have taken it, if not Hogwarts legacy most likely.

To be fair, in same article he also said

Howard also added that they can never be 100 per cent sure about the date but it looks like the game is well on track to be launched in late 2022.

Sucks but if it solves some issues or make it less bug riddled not a bad thing IMO.

When playing in our org we use one of their large ships, i like going to the top deck, the cartography deck, there is an airlock access on that level that leads to the outside, its the top of the hanger doors which has gravity plating, i just stand there as this 160m long ship is manoeuvring and quantum jumping around in space, around huge planets and space stations.
I call it Carrack surfing, its ####'ing awesome, none of the other space games allow you this level of freedom, this level of sci-fi immersion.

Star Field has a lot to live up to, and i hope it does :)

It won't come from Bethesda and probably from no one for a good while. It's just too much complexity going on to tackle for a quick buck. Look at ArmA, no one could come close to what is offering - although its pretty buggy, performance hog and old engine.

I think Sq42 might come out before this lol.

Kidding I do expect this to come out next year but I also do have a feeling Sq42 could also come out end of next year depending how far they get this year has they have pretty got most of the guys working in Sq42 instead of the mmo game.

I wonder if this game allows you to fly a ship the size of a carrack.

Doubt it. Not expecting it to be that kind of game. Don’t think it will be anything like SQ42 to be honest. Would love to see SQ42 out end of next year, but I won’t hold my breath. Those guys keep dragging it out, so for me it is a case of it will be out when it is out.
 
Performance looks terrible in the showcase demo.

Best case scenario is that was a 4k 30fps mode and there exists a 1440p 60 fps mode.

The XSX has 6700XT power and the game is likely optimised.
 
I love the Bethesda games but this doesn't seem to grab my interest straight away, it may be fantastic but will need to wait I think, seems like a slow interest build up for me.
