***The Official Starfield Thread*** (As endorsed by TNA)

Ya Hammy Joor, I litterally have one gold weapon I just got from doing a quest.....How...just how????

Sorry old man raging here lol.
Haha sorry! I honestly thought the game was just generous with drops as gold stuff seems to pop up regularly for me! Indeed just a jammy sod apparently.

Edit: I’ve just hit my daily post limit as a new user. Does anyone know when that newbie status lifts? @Stanners - sorry to tag you but I can’t find an answer to this in the rules section. Cheers :D

I was in a sort of Casino thing in space last night....great bit of fun with zero gravity.

I can see me playing this game for ages, pretty much hooked now after a wee bit of a ropey start with it. I'm only lvl 14 because I'm like Homer Simpson with a butterfly, I start off meaning to go to one planet and talk to one guy to finish a mission and end up on the other side of the galaxy helping an old woman cross the road 3 hours later.

Todd must be playing a custom version of the game that reflects a much better version than retail release.

It's the only explanation as nobody is that full of crap :p

Could understand if it was ground breaking visually, but from what I've seen, this clearly isn't :D

Bloomberg audience Q: Why did you not optimize Starfield for PC?
Todd Howard: "We did"
Phil Spencer " LOL

Everyone probably knows this already but don’t forget to check which tier weapons/equipment you’re picking up or buying.

Tier 0 if you will has no name modifier.
Tier 1 is calibrated
Tier 2 is refined
Tier 3 is advanced
Tier 4 is superior

Not sure if there’s anything above superior

Then you have the rarity tiers, can’t remember how many but I think it was

No rarity
Blue - rare
Purple - epic
Yellow - legendary

I think that’s correct.

A non rare advanced weapon may be more powerful than a calibrated epic weapon etc.

I put loads of time and effort into weapon and equipment modding first try and realised it was better to focus on looting higher tier stuff than modding lower tier rates unless it had a specific trait that made it worthwhile.

In the end I focussed only so much in getting scopes/suppressors with my weapons mods and upgrade each tier when they become available

Like a calibrated suppressed instigating pistol or rifle was great for a stealth build and did more damage with the trait than a standard higher tier weapon

I might be missing something and I haven’t come across a load of rare items yet so there may be some incredible traits that I haven’t seen.

From a comment on the video above: "Important mod advice for all PC players: For some strange reason all UI elements in this game are locked at 30 FPS. That's why everything looks so stuttery for example in the spaceship UI."

Is that true? Bizarre decision.

2.5 hours in, it took about 30 mins to bind ESDF keys :)

It runs about 60fps in the heavier areas using Hardware Unboxed recommended setting.

Some teleporting issues with my robot. I don't know how Bethesda does it but its got just the right amount of jank.

Needs mods to fix all the UI issues, it should not be this complicated to transfer items between me and companion.

The graphics are great and realistic - my brain is not yet tuned to know what items are items and what isn't.

Brightness/gamma slider. Fov.

As much as I'm enjoying myself, I cringe every time I use the "persuasion" system. It's just absolute nonsense. Turns conversations into this crazy game that has no bearing on what you're actually trying to talk them out of/into most of the time.
