***The Official Starfield Thread*** (As endorsed by TNA)

Don't get sucked in by trailers - Bethesda always make great ones, will wait and see if the gameplay lives upto it

If there isn't insane ragdolling I'll probably be a little disappointed tbh.

Shame it's a blurry mess hopefully FSR3 will bring it up to DLSS standards.

I have seen good implementations of FSR 2. Just a shame most games have a meh implementation.

If AMD have not made sure this game has the perfect implementation then they honestly might be a lost cause. If they have then there probably won't be a huge difference between it and the modded DLSS 2 is my guess.

We shall soon see :D

Looking at some of the sig specs and resolutions, I'm hoping the game won't need DLSS / FSR to hit 60fps! :O

I would love to be able to use DLDSR and run it 5120x2160 and use DLSS Quality, but that seems highly unlikely. Maybe DLSS Performance.

Also I will be tweaking the settings. No point whacking everything to Ultra if there is little difference between High and Ultra.

Also the usual crap like motion blur, depth of field etc will be turned off straight away.

I would be happy with 50 fps even really if need be.

I think you will need a mod for DLSS

Its a bit of a play on words really, its just the first new IP that they've developed in 25 years, which is all they mean really, but its worded in a way that suggests they've actually been working on it for 25 years, which isnt the case. Its actually been in development since 2015, so 8 years.

Interestingly long time ago they almost got the rights to make a Star Trek RPG, that'd been interesting to see

SIXTEEN TIMES THE DETAIL...

It's a heavy game for sure

Runs at 1200p 30fps on Xbox series x

So for 4k 60fps on pc you probably need an rtx4080/7900xtx

As for dlss it will be available day one as a mod
I'm pretty sure Bethesda officially said the consoles are now targetting 60fps, by sacrificing a little fidelity. I think they had major moaning at 30fps prospect.

Indeed, even down to 45fps as long as VRR is enabled on my LG C2. As for FSR, I've yet to see it implemted without it looking like vaseline has been smeared all over everything. DLSS can be OK, but even then its not an ideal solution in my opinion.

I'm running a 9900k at 5ghz and a 3090 both under water. I doubt I'll get medium settings, 4k at 30fps without an upscaler.

At least it's in game pass, cheap pickup so no loss once it's confirmed to be a buggy, stuttery mess lol. I think people are forgetting who is making this game... I'm really not expecting much.

Just to add, I love Bethesda story telling and world building, so I'm excited for the gameplay and exploration. Just not the headaches for the next 12 months like all their previous titles on PC trying to get past game breaking issues. Currently playing through Skyrim anniversary on the ps5 to get into the swing of letting the game lead me to my next adventure and it's great. Hopefully they've captured that in Starfield.

I paid £40 for the premium edition and even if buggy it won't stop me playing it day 1. Just like Fallout 4 an Cyberpunk didn't :)

Tut tut, no pre orders! In fairness, I've no bloody idea how I've not caved as I'm terrible for pre orders. But I'm sticking to my guns this time. Fallout 76 was a kick to the nads, I don't trust them this time around.

Was not really a pre-order. Was someone’s AMD code from their GPU purchase from members market. Hence £40 and not £85.99 on steam. If I didn’t snap it up, someone else would have :)
