Was not really a pre-order. Was someone’s AMD code from their GPU purchase from members market. Hence £40 and not £85.99 on steam. If I didn’t snap it up, someone else would have :)

Oh damn, nice deal then! Don't blame you.

Honestly, I really hope my bitter approach is invalidated next week. Until then I'm going to continue to side eye this game. This and last year has been so janky for pc gaming, if this is a flop, both the wife and I have agreed no more pc gaming and back to consoles. The cost to enjoyment is just not what it used to be.

and we still don't know if it'll support head-tracking or HOTAS out of the box...

Id be surprised considering it's tailored for consoles/controllers but can't see how it would be a big effort to include it for those that want to play that way.

I am sure with a bit of tweaking it will be fine. At worst just target 45fps or something. I have a G-Sync Ultimate monitor and that is what I will do if it means the IQ is worth the sacrifice. If not will target 60fps.

I've never found G-Sync makes games feel smoother?

Interesting, guess that finally answers the question that some people had about whether you take off and land or whether its cutscenes. (its cutscenes), good to see that you can walk about inside the ship but shame about the momentary "loading screen" when you climb the ladder into the ship. Seems to run well enough though in the video.

Glad I never watched it now, still want to experience SF with as little knowledge about it as possible.
It didnt really reveal much, was pretty much just an intro bit, then character creation, quick walk in the ship, take off, bit of ship fighting (which looked pretty rubbish but then I think space fights in general in games look a bit rubbish) , all just "tutorial" stuff really.
